Overrun
In this mission you’re playing against other real people, in multiplayer! The goal is to simultaneously capture territory around Kyrat, and stop territory from being taken by your enemies. Players are assigned to one of two teams, the Rakshasa or the Golden Path, and the fun begins once they hit the ground, sounds pretty awesome if it’s the entire game world.
I was browsing around and bumped into that above which I found HERE
Sure it's just speculation but when you ask yourself why would they choose to charge for a MP mode and still the actual MP / PVP has not been talked about.
What is so special about this overrun mode - it sounds like domination / territories so why would people want to pay.
Then look at the wording.
The goal is to simultaneously capture territory around Kyrat
Kyrat is as we know the fictional setting for Far Cry 4 but I imagine is also a huge area that is basically the single player game, and it says capture territory around kyrat.
So is this a special mode that is nothing like the others, do we have to use vehicles / wingsuit etc and travel distances to get to and from these areas that must be captured ?
Is it similar to maybe a strike in Destiny as an example where (as an example) 8 players on a team turn up and take an outpost / fortress then move on to the next one ?
If that is the case does the outpost appear friendly to our team but to the opposite team they act all hostile ?
Am I barking up the wrong tree because the wording could be that overrun is unique and special which is why it is coming with the Season Pass but I am sure it could also be purchased as a stand alone item.
I am more eager to find out about this now and to also hear what the standard multiplayer modes are that come with the game.
The trouble with dlc game modes as with most games that have dlc modes, is that only a small percentage of players will pay for dlc. far cry games dont attract large numbers of players in multiplayer, they never have, and this means very few will play this mode. far cry 4 will only get about 2000 - 3000 max players on each platform in the first few weeks of release, and then it will drop down to the 100s in the following months, then only the hardcore/dedicated players will keep it going for the following year or two. it's just the way things are![]()
