    FC4 Directx 10 support?

Good day lovely Devs, Mods and Forumers,
I have one important question to all of you.. Since i am a huge Far Cry fan, played all the series i am wondering if Far Cry 4 will have DX10 support like the previous one.
My gf card ain't a DX11 card like the rest 60% of all Steam users.. A recent poll confirmed that still a lot of people are limited with a Dx10 card and since most triple-A devs are switching directly to the next gen version of their releases i am wondering if you will do that too?
It's a shame really! I have a very decent card, the only problem is the lack of that annoying dx11 feature >.>

The difference is supposed to be "big" comparing dx10 to dx11 and most recent games do not show me in any way what exactly it improves. Tesselation? Dyn lightning?
I mean, with a proper 3d texture editing and optimizing a wonderfull dx10 can surpass and even surprise any dx11 game recently launched if the Devs are skilled enough. Knowing the Far Cry series for so long everything is possible.. Far Cry showed us how beautifull a dx10 game can be when the Devs are motivated and are having fun with what they're doing, willing to deliver and guide us of one hell of an experience.

I beg of you, the same FC3 engine is used to make FC4 so please, dx10 is totally possible within your efforts, power and knowledge.. Plus, your income will be of a bigger amount allowing old systems to play and enjoy this game! Please, optimize it as you did with Far Cry 3, let us tweak graphic options like all previous Far Cry series and it certainly will be a GOTY.
I expect a clear and positive response to this topic! Entlighten us a little bit here.. Do not make us hope, raise up our inpatience and expectations if this wonderfull game won't even run on our systems. Far Cry is full of surprises, and maybe, this newest serie will surprise me again regarding all this above ^^
Thank you for reading this up and good luck on Far Cry 4

Far Cry 3 was not optimized on PC, not to the slightest bit.

Anyway, it's true the renderer doesn't seem to have gone through any major changes, I'm quite sure there'll be DX9 compatibility just like FC3 had DX9/DX11.

I hope DX10 is not supported. We need Ubi to focus as much as possible on the DX11 renderer.
DX10 GPUs are no longer supported by the way so why bother ? Because of a tiny minority who refuses to upgrade ?

    Come on.

I got 2x GTX 280 which is superior than most mid end Dx11 graphic cards.. Why should i throw these away if they're perfectly capable of running any 3D video game?
But no, Directx is pure marketing, and they fprce us to upgrade every 2 years.. Xbox360/ps4 didn't need any upgrades for years but i had to because of the incompentnce of their developers... Far Cry series is known to run on every system, since the very first one we could tweak anything!!!
Don't let people with dx10 cards down, there are still many around with powerfull hardwares.. I just won't spend more money on a new video card if mines are perfectly capable of anything... i won't spend 250€ on a mid-high end card, with that money i can buy 4 games!!! If publishers and devs want my money then they should start thinking about everything.

It isn't because the usb stick and memory cards people will throw their auto radios out if they are perfectly capabe playing CDs..
I won't upgrade! Not untill Micro$oft launches the so awaited Directx 12.. they say Dx11 will support it but will it seriously be the same? :P think twice

I expect Far cry 4 to be running at least with Dx10/11 capable systems since the game's engines has that feature. Far Cry 4 is to be expected to be an enourmes game, the best of them all. I don't expect it to be anything close as that awfully unoptimized Watch dogs... What a mess that was!
And for your information, Far Cry 3, as a beautifull open world game with unlimited resources was pretty well optimized.. I mean, even a 9500 gt; Dual Core; could run that game and look how old that card is.

Again, i expect a few devs to read this topic carefully and reconsider about DX10 being within your plans.. That little feature is "only" a big plus so everybody can enjoy playing that game!

While everyone's circumstances are different.------time and PC tech moves on. The whole point of PC gaming is upgradeable tech, and the rapidity of it's tech advancement. Arguing console's obsolescent tech and unchanging tech standard as an advantage over PCs is like arguing why needing Viagra is an advantage. It's not. DX 12 is on the horizen, as is Win 9 (8.1 sucks---I'm stuck with it). Hopefully, FC 4 will support DX 9 or 10 (though if it isn't asking for it now is a day late and a dollar short).................but in all honesty....................you're overdue for a GPU (at least) upgrade. If you're running XP.......................you're definitely suspect.

I have seen it all now....DX10 support is a good thing ? What the hell...

Time to move on, PC gaming is built upon that. Take it or leave it, but don't expect devs to support antiquated hardware.

I think Ubisoft will do just fine without your money etowner, don't worry about that.

While I certainly do agree with this... Supporting DX10 is quite simple for the developer through the use of device feature levels (The D3D11 API can emulate D3D9 and D3D10).

Why are you guys complaining? If developing a DX10 version won't interfere with the actual Dx11 version of the game, then there's nothign wrong on doing so! Stop cursing..
The engine is the old FC3 engine and perfectly capable of doing what i asked.. Don't be selfish by saying ubisoft don't want my money.. Say that to the rest 30% of all Steam users and watch how meaningless your cursings are..
The game is expected to be launched for x360 and ps3! That means Devs should also stop developing for these consoles because it's "old"? Get your thoughts straighten up and use the sense of logic... This ain't a new-gen exclusive but still a multi-gen game.. You will have to wait for the next Far Cry if you're wiling to take all the advantage of the current new gen with a new engine..
Untill then, there's nothing wrong on supporting all gen with this new Game coming out as i'm expecting and waiting for a confirmation about that topic.

PC Gamers are the red headed step child of the Console world, we have been for a while so I wouldn't worry to much about whether FC4 will support DX10 or DX11... count your blessings if we can play it at a high DX9 level.
