I know this has been previously discussed before, but I REALLY WANT to have a mode that makes the game a whole lot more challenging. I think many players from the community would love to see one as well.
To be honest, harcore mode of Far Cry 3 wasn't much of a challenge.
I've made a list of things that could be in so far:
-enemies deals 50% damages with assault rifles, pistols, 100% with shotguns to close range and snipers, rocket too and grenades.
-animals deals 20% to 100% damages, according to their size and strenght.
-Human IA more sensitive to noise, less easier to fool and react quicker according to the light. More efficient if the player doesn't crouch or hide in the forest cover.
-Animals IA able to detect the player form afar, if the last runs or isn't crouching.
-no QTE
-vehicles take longer time to be repaired
-falls from cliffs or others are deadly from 6 meters +, according to the shock or the violence of the fall.
-poisonous bites from somes animals (snakes) or from hunters (arrows) deals heavy damage if not healed quickly
-endurance bar (stamina, when running)
-why not: hypothermia when swimming in cold waters!
-be able to completely deactivate the HUD, radar, detection bar, icons...
-a map more simple, with no animals icons on it, nor chests, treasures, quests points. Just basic points and prints for animals
What do you think?
Hardcore mode for Far Cry 4 still possible
Creative director still hopes to include it.
Published 14th Oct 2014
The possibility of a hardcore mode for Far Cry 4 is something that really interests us, and it's also something that creative director Alex Hutchinson would love to see implemented in the game.
Although it hasn't been given the green light as yet, Hutchinson is still hoping that something can be added to the open-world shooter (though given our proximity to launch, we're likely looking at post-release content if something is put together).
"It's something I'm really excited about," he told us in a recent interview. "We haven't got it in production yet, but I really like the idea of a version of the game where everything is deadly; the water is deadly, the air is deadly. But yeah, I'm still trying to hard sell it in the office, so we'll see if we get progress."

Yeah I am up for them doing one, it could be some time before Far Cry 5 gets talked about and it looks like FC4 has more to keep us going this time so why not do a Hardcore Mode.
I tend to think of hardcore mode as ALL weapons (player and AI) do much more damage. Basically if you take 2-3 bullets anywhere on your body you're dead. 1 from powerful guns. Also no radar ect. The additional features such as diseases sound like a good idea on paper but they never turn out very fun.
