You right, if ubisoft paid attention to fc3 mp they know. I guess about 90% of the players on the ps3 didnt play anything else then tdm.Originally Posted by JedMosley81 Go to original post
Also hoping its not just one side attack and the other side defends. Coz many players dont like to just defend and leave. So often on these kinds of modes the defending side have less players and most likely loose. Thats why i liked the transmission mode in fc3. You attack, once succesful you must defend the point. So it was not just only attack or defend.
It is very easy to take a traditional game mode & slightly change the rules, unfortunately this can **** things up to the point where a once fun mode is not fun to play, or the slight change can be confusing to some.
IMO Far Cry Instincts Predator had the perfect game modes & the slight changes in CTF (Steal The Sample) where you could throw the sample & when carrying it you could not duel wield / some heavier weapons could not be used.
With Seek & Secure (Capture The Station) The station appeared at random points, both teams can take it, the station glows the teams color, once taken a new one shows up.
The station can time out, also you could drive over it in some vehicles & capture while in the vehicle.
Best thing was you set to 3 or 5 captures say & the match ends when all captures are done, none of this crap like in FC3 where a dominating team still have to play until the timer / match ends.
They got it wrong with FC2 Uprising - Changing the Captain in the lobby would have helped a tiny bitWith FC3 I thought firestorm failed, & Transmission should have allowed for the match to end after a set number of captures, The Transmission points should pop up quicker with 1 minute max to take the station, unfortunately no vehicles made it time consuming to get around on foot..
PERFECT GAME MODES FOR ME
CTF
Solo & Team Deathmatch
Last Man Standing
Assault (attack / defend)
Transmission / Seek & Secure (if they get the rules right)
This new assymetrical mode will be fun if its anything like Predator mode was
I agree. Again, I have not seen anything from the multiplayer, so what I say here is just speculation. Based on how they're going about the multiplayer, it seems like it's going to be radically different in terms of... Everything really o.oOriginally Posted by JedMosley81 Go to original post
But I still hope we will have some of the traditional modes as a back-up in case the interest or the appeal of the "new/different" modes isn't something that gets us hooked or maybe even isn't fun to begin with. TDM, Domination, CTF and Transport are 4 "normal" modes I hope to see, then I'm hopefully more than satisfied ^^
What is Transport (I need educating)Originally Posted by Lillestoel Go to original post
I have to say that I hope they have taken out the Battle Cries and Team Support Strikes, Also solo DeathMatch always used to be popular and they dropped it from FC3 for the first time in a FC Game I really hope they include solo deathmatch this time.
I have been playing a lot of Destiny mainly Control - I like it a lot but it seems crazy that capturing the points gives 25 points for neutralizing (if it's owned by another team) and 75 for a capture - Total 100 but you get 100 for a kill and 50 for an assist (I think) so really my opinion is that Destiny Control is just TDM with a few extras, now if the kills did not matter other than score / XP and it was actually capturing the zones that won the match it would be a different game and those like myself that often move around to capture points would be rewarded a lot more.
Maybe Salvage is something like that I have not played it yet as it's usually not available.
Far Cry Instincts / Evolution / Predator allowed 16 players online, Pred allowed 12 vehicles in any user created map with 5 game modes.
FC2 allowed 16 players and only 6 vehicles and 4 game modes
FC3 allowed 14 players and no vehicles with only 4 game modes
FC4 - Man this is still a mystery - I am eager to find out what we get and what changes have been added.
I FULLY welcome an asymmetrical mode. Those are all kinds of fun. I'm a huge fan of Predator Mode, so I really hope that's what they're talking about.
Asymetrical is a good idea, also because it forces an extra layer of creativity in the Map Editor. Having to consider how both sides play, in how you're designing the map is very important.
Just dont forget our traditional modes, Ubi! At least TDM and Domination, please!
Im a bit concerned that when the guy says multiplayer, he just says the multiplayer is asymmetrical, and he doesn't say we have a new mode that is asymmetrical. to me this means multiplayer will be asymmetrical across the board, in other words all modes. i dont think asymmetrical tdm or domination would be popular. if asymmetrical standard modes were a good idea, you would see them in games like cod and battlefield, but you dont.
