I don't like the tagging via aiming at the enemy (hopefully theres still the option to disable that like in FC3), but i don't hate it when done through the camera, although even then, i wish you had to 'take picture' for it to tag enemies and mark them.Originally Posted by GUN_SABOTUR Go to original post
Personally, even in games with 30/40 or 50 different weapons.. I just use 2 or 3...Originally Posted by mistados Go to original post
A gun kills people - different colours or shapes don't bother me tbh.
There's a nice selection for me though.. and some cool looking ones![]()
I'm looking forward to impaling people with the harpoon gunOriginally Posted by Mr_Shade Go to original post.
But I totally agree that although it may be nice to have hundreds of guns, a lot of people tend to stick to the few they find really effective.
Personally, I can't think of anything better than a grenade launcher and elephant combo. But hey, that's just me.
You may not care that much as others do. Or you may consider it a detail, like others.Originally Posted by Mr_Shade Go to original post
But it doesn't mean it's a detail that doesn't matter in the overall and long term experience of the game.
I could count 35 weapons so far (36 with the harpoon), only 8 (9 with harpoon) are actually new.
(not counting Signature weapons cause I couldn't see them)
That's nearly 80% of the same exact guns with the same exact options as Far Cry 3.
Guns we already spent dozens or hundreds or hours playing with in FC3, for almost 2 years now.
You may understand that some of us needs or wants some fresh "toys", more unique to this opus, even if it has the same role as one from the previous game.
Rather than copy pasted ones we already know by heart.
There is hundreds of thousands of model of fire arms existing in real life. It shouldn't be difficult to pick one and include it replacing an other, at least for variety sake.
I call that lazyness from the devs to be honest. What else could it be...
A tad disappointing. But that's just me, obviously.
The re-use of weapons is a little bit of a bummer, I think most of the new weapons in the game will unlock with the 2nd half of the game. From the menus I saw in the newer videos, it didn't even have the multi-shot 'nade launcher or the crossbow or the tec-9, so hopefully there are more new weapons than we know about. It does look like they're restricting one of our weapon slots to 'side arms' so i'm glad that that class of weapon does seem to have been expanded. I just hope there is a new weapon or 2 in the Assault Rifle class because so far I haven't seen a new one...
I was originally even more bummed about the weapon recycling, and especially because I didn't like the pistol selection in FC3 really ( not being able to customize the 1911, the one pistol i would've used didn't help), but now that I know the RoboCop gun from Blood Dragon is one of the Uplay unlocks, I'm not as bummed about the pistol situation.
