Review for Trials Frontier Maintenance Update:
Let me start by saying, "Wow!" On the surface, the latest iOS update from RedLynx seems to be nothing more than a small update to fix a few issues and add a few extra missions to keep riders busy. But after playing through a few tracks, I have a much different opinion about this update. Not only was Fire Oasis fixed, but they went back and physically changed more than just a few tracks. Not only were tracks for the cube missions changed, but other tracks too were changed to make the drive line smoother and less glitchy. But then I played Dark Machine.
This Opus of a track blew me away from a builders perspective! There is so much going on in this track! I believe the lack of checkpoints, is due to a complexity issue in the Trials Frontier Level Editor. REMEMBER, this is just on phones and tablets and not all are created equally when it comes to performance. Between the spinning saws, the fires burning in the background, rocks falling away, spinning wheels, rolling cylinders, catapults and not to mention the red ambient point lights, it's absolutely amazing this track runs as smoothly as it does. Did I mention the Object Position Events too?! Amazing!
As for the last part of the track on Dark Machine and it being so dark and hard to see. My guess, is that it will be fixed in the next update to show people that RedLynx can now, actually, in fact, go back and change single player tracks. Something which they couldn't do in Trials Evolution. This ability alone to go back and change a single player track is leaps and bounds ahead of what we, the community, are used to. This means, that if we report a tire glitch in Trials Frontier, RedLynx now has the ability to go back and FIX IT! That being said, I believe there will be a FIX for it, in the next update.
Trials Frontier is pushing the envelope for what is possible in Mobile Gaming. And even though there is still much debate over RedLynx taking to the Freemium Business Model for their mobile game, at least we know the developers are hard at work to get us an even better gaming experience. Based on the Trials Legacy and Reputation when it comes to User Created Content, I'm sure it won't be long until we see a Level Editor or even a Track Central of sorts added to the mix.
Freemium or not, what we gamers have at our fingertips is truly a gift. Like a bottle of wine, it's only going to get better with time. I can't wait to see what's in store for the game in the coming months! And how about some Donkey already!
Best Regards,

I totally agree with you mate. Trials Frontier is the best game i ever played in my life, and once i started playing it last months actually, i knew that i'm going to stay with it all my life. This game is really amazing and entertaining, you can even consider it a time killer but for me, i consider it happy time cause i really enjoy playing it especially when i use my intelligence, skills and of course i like challenges. The only thing that bothers me a litle bit is that i'm on android which means i'm a bit late compared to iOS...but it's okay as long as there will be updates coming soon.
Trials Frontier is the best game for me cause i can play it everywhere i go. ^^
Ubisoft and Redlynx really did an amazing job ! Bravo !
yes, gameplay is good. at times awesome, but as everyone know and feel, its all ruined by ftp crap and fuel limits and other traps. its like a sweet candy wrapped in crap.
Whether or not I agree atm, this is fkn funny! its up there with:Originally Posted by eflixxx Go to original post

Really messed up visuals.
But as to what I think about it. I think RedLynx still has a chance to gain back people's credibility when it come to Frontier. It's really gonna Depend on what updates come out in the near future. Sink or Swim Fight or Flight. It just all Depends.
And speaking of Depends...when President Reagan was asked if He preferred boxers or briefs, He replied, "Depends. To be honest."
I can agree with the above. One of the most impressive things to me about Frontier is the overall quality of track design, and for me Dark Machine is one of the more enjoyable ones. A nice cahnge of pace; I hope we get more like it in the future. This Opus of a track blew me away from a builders perspective!

Thrilled about Fire Oasis but... it took 3 releases. Not really looking at that as a positive, but I AM glad they fixed it.Not only was Fire Oasis fixed, but they went back and physically changed more than just a few tracks. Not only were tracks for the cube missions changed, but other tracks too were changed to make the drive line smoother and less glitchy.
You think they made the tracks smoother/less glitchy, etc... I suspect its a simpler explanation; they are fixing tracks that people have had hard times on; making them easier for riders on lower-upgraded bikes. Thats certainly true for Lumber Yard; play against an older ghost if you want to see how much easier they made that ramp! I dont think they would make changes to existing content and risk bugs/increase testing for subtle things like "making drive lines smoother". They were fixing gameplay issues.
An opposing viewpoint on this one....I dont think it will be fixed (at least, I hope not)As for the last part of the track on Dark Machine and it being so dark and hard to see. My guess, is that it will be fixed in the next update to show people that RedLynx can now, actually, in fact, go back and change single player tracks
They have already proven they can change tracks in this release; no need to prove it again. Its dark because its supposed to be a hard track (they play tested that track; they knew its lighting). Its the culmination of a quest that requires a very high-level player who has done most of the game to finish (needing slot level 16, loot wheel tracks, decent bikes in all tiers to complete quest, etc). There are no check points because that is a way to make it challenging without putting in obstacles that require ninja-like skills.... so its harder to get a high score but really... anyone can do it.
It is a great game. Only reason I tolerate the F2P model and some of the other bugs.
But come on... I just got DARK MACHINE ON ANBA! Give me a break already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what i really dont understand is how they dont fix the glitches earlier in the android release since its behind. fire oasis is still going to be a problem until the dark machine update instead of the 2.3 one.
my gut feeling is the nearly invisible end obstacles on dark machine were intentional but then i remember when they messed up the ghost in the ANBA challenge and it makes me wonder how much they really play test anything.
also did dumptruck get hired by ubi/redlynx![]()
i just got dark machine, i'm a bit late on this one lol but wow, it's an awesome track !!!![]()
