Whilst I don't build personally, I know quite a few builders; some of them highly regarded, who feel stifled or haven't the motive to build with the equipment available to them. I wouldn't knock the creativity of the riders singled out, they have proved themselves as accomplished builders. Basically, from my interpretation, the community builders need to stop moaning and get creating. Kid, D2 and Dragon don't have to prove nothing to me, however.

Isn't creativity about freedom? The chance to express yourselves in anyway possible? I'm not totally sure the guys can do this at present.

Nicholas you completely got what I was on about wrong and didn't really appreciate the way you replied back to in this thread.

The builders that come on these forums are mostly the builders I know and are pretty much are on top form, what I was trying to say to kid is that I know of his builds and he is already creative enough to do well in the editor and for what the objects are like, to not get disappointed or feel it's more difficult to build, as shogun said most people have already made amazing creations and most of them are known here. My initial point was about not trying to bring up the previous game (I never said anywhere, "be more creative then"...). Of course I agree the objects were good in evo, but we just need to understand that they are not in this game.

Whole new set of objects to experiment with and I'm sure we can all agree with each DLC, the objects and editor is getting stronger.

On a note. I never come in here to try and put people down. I come in here to comment, say my opinions just like everyone else but also try and compromise. There's never any need for un-constuctive posts, help each other out in what way you can. As a level designer my best way to help would be in the editor, visuals, lighting, themes, drivelines, ninjas etc. Not coding or programming.

    Cheers,
Evo got it own personality, but at the same time it was universal, it permit to do everything. Fusion got it own personality too, I understand why redlynx wanted to give us a kind of history, a concrete world with its own rules but I repeat, it’s too hard to go outside this world… As I said I tried it, and I think I showed it’s possible…harder but possible. I personally liked this challenge, when everybody in the French forum spoke about all the limits of this new editor…I tried to show by making tracks that we can be creative… It’s the same thing but inverted, on evo we had to build a spaceship with containers and garbage trucks…

My goal is to help, it’s my own opinion based on everything I heard or read about this subject. I try to be the voice of many people who don’t express their opinion to you and stopped creating. The new people with less buildings skills or the close minded ones or all the people who said “I can’t do what I want, I quit!!” or whatever reason. We are not pros, we’re not paid for that, we do it for fun, cause we love create… And for this majority, the line between creativity and frustration is very close and they wait like a surfer on a waveless beach…

I know the direction of the trials franchise was a long reflexion and there is a lot of consideration that we (little customers) don’t think about. But if you want facts and not word, I’m pretty sure you’re looking at the number of downloads on TC…and they are objectively not good. So there is a problem somewhere, and I just wanted to say that some more impersonal objects could help some of them to come back. Cause the real purpose of a good editor is not to guide or restrain creativity but give the better tools to let the majority of people express themselves fully.

For myself, as a wannabe good builder, this is how I see it...

I played Evo from launch, Not much HD before that as was new to the 360, but some,
Never built a track on HD but as Evo rolled around I found myself with lots of free time so dove into the editor head first,
What I really liked about the Evo objects was the fact that HD builders/riders WERE catered to with the Legacy objects,
Aswell as many other reasons of course, but some of the best tracks built on Evo bore a striking resemblance to HD, for me at least,
Looking back with rose tinted glasses is a human condition and really there's nothing anyone can do about that... or is there

But anyway, what I'm trying to say is,
For maybe a year on Evo I built a lot of garbage tracks...A LOT...
Now to say I probably built 50/60 rubbish tracks before a half decent one on Evo, I was happy with that progression...
I look at Fusion the same way, I've built about 10 tracks so far and I'm actually fairly happy with most of them,
Regardless of what anyone else thinks of them or what the rating says, I'll build more because it's a joy for me to do so.
Now considering we will not see the game in its entirety for another 6 months yet,
It's safe to say, for me at least, The best is yet to come.

The builders mentioned above are exceptionally creative and talented individuals, and guess what, they too struggle toward perfection and rarely achieve it...
They show what IS possible with Fusion and the rest of us have somewhat of a guideline to follow,
A lot of other similar talents haven't got to grips with Fusion and have moved on, but thats life, some will go and more will come,
Some of those that have left will return on release of the final dlc, if only just to see whats up, and then Fusion (hopefully with all feature updates active) will truly come to life,

    I'm rambling, sorry,
    To summarize...

Loads more dlc incoming, I've enjoyed whats been released so far,
If after the release of the final dlc someone said to me, Would you buy this game for 40e, I'd take the hand an' all off 'em

Y'all just need to chill the bean sham

    Hi,

In no way I wanted to say the builders were lacking creativity. I actually wanted to say the contrary: "Look at Track Central, builders are creative".
I am totally amazed by what you guys are doing, so no attack at all :-)

I don't add anything, Shogun's post is exactly what I had in mind.

    Cheers,

At the end of the day everyone has the right to their own opinion even devs and thats all they are and this is the place where freedom is given so we can speak those opinions. The person who shouted a few posts back should keep this in mind when reading a post. These are opinions not points to throw things and shout about , i am pleased that we can get the opinions of devs and so forth even tho we know they can be one sideded which is the case in any job but honestly why do people have to read a post that is within a deabate and then start ranting and raving or being rather rude to other people.

Maybe someone should get with the programme and understand the freedom of a debate.

I would imagine the people who have created creative tracks and who are debating are doing so because they wish for things to aid ideas they already have. Everyone wants something thats easier if your a crafts man you want an electric screwdriver not a manual one its just so much easier which is the most important part and sometimes there is the odd thing that you just cant get to look right without the correct material.

Now creativeness is as they say - create

To create to me means to create something from scrath , birth something your self that's not already born. To fill a track full of object that is already made for you maybe is not all that creative maybe its more of being good at placing factual objects within a certain space and theme. Im sure there is a term for this other than creativness. maybe design but maybe not , If people want to make tracks like they did in evo then make tracks like they did i have seen enough evo vids to see that from the objects we have you can recreate some of the feeling from evo if you want to.

I have a list as long as my arm that i would like to have in the editor , but when i think about it , do i really want them ? because building things from scratch , matching this to that has 1 , learn't me to use the editor ,

2 gave me more imspiration when i see something and realise this will look good there and so forth. The fact that things are not at hand and easy to to pick up at the drop of the hat has learnt me a vast amount within the editor. i am a truely thick person when it comes to and logic and vectors and so forth but because of the playing around we have to do i have found out how to have an event go off at a certain time miles away from the physics bubble and many more yet if things were all at hand and not creating was so detailed involved then i would still be none the wiser to most of the capabilities of the editor. I really like it when you create something out of what we have into something new and cool , its cool to see the out come and what people think of them. Although i can see were wood is wanted as it covers so many ideas and builds , Although i do then think everything would contain it and become woodywood ( wont let me enter his last name) dream town lol but anyway.

I guess creativness is what ever you want to make of it , if you havent got a hammer in your house to put a picture up do you just leave it or go outside get a brick and use that. Me i would just push it in with me teeth

ps sorry about the grammer im thick with that too lol

How hard would it be to include an Evo legacy section of objects in the next DLC? Are the objects easy to port over to a true 1080 experience?

Ozy may have mentioned the full game won't be realized for 6 months...with dlc and multiplayer. This is true, but consider the huge drop off in players since launch. How many will actively play at that time?

I think most stop playing Trials because they are simple...not good. To get solid at Trials takes forever, but a true Trials player enjoys honing his skills and making personal bests in the game.
Player retention is probably low in most games, but I could say because I only play Trials..haha

In Fusion there are a different set of tools, as discussed. Different brushes for a painter who is used to working with colored pencils. Incredible tracks can be created and with more complexity, far better than Evo. MPCs last track was probably my favorite of his. It's unfortunate that many builders were put off at the initial release of the game with dull objects and bugs in the track central weekly feed(not updating properly). It was 2-3 months before this was addressed. I would guess this hurt the newer player reaction towards track central, carrying over to less interest in it.

I would guess porting many Evo object couldn't take that long. Why not do this? Maybe there's just not enough interest on the whole.

    Why did legacy get terminated?
To me it was part of Trials signature.

Heres a small breakdown, if i may...

    Hd comes out:
Fans: Wow! What a game..If this game had mp it would be so much better.
    Redlynx: Ok!

    Evo comes out:
Fans: Holy cow! Thanks Redlynx..Can we get more items for the next Trials?
    Redlynx: Sure, all great ideas.

    Fusion comes out:
Fans: WTF happened to Trials? Wheres all of the good stuff you gave us on hd & Evo?
    Redlynx: Fusion is not Evo!

    Summary:
Evo wasnt hd either, but it was hd+.
Fusion left everyone baffled cause it wasnt hd++. See what I mean?
Its like taking Batman & putting him to save Smurf village.

Hd is what put you guys on the map of our hearts.
Its the root of trials that got cut in Fusion.

    Please replant the root.

    Thanks!
    DE.
