best choice would be something what would be directly connected to the current map to expand it than divide it into more maps... so Mexico and Canada comes to my mind and then it could be expanded for example by Alaska as you suggested... but it's rather an expansion size of content than DLC (if you don't count expansions as DLC), because new map part would probably come with a new faction as all map parts have their own faction, add new part of story, new type of skill challenge, some new cars and expansion is ready

but what comes to my mind is price... how much should something like this cost? the game is complete with all support systems, graphics engine etc, that's the reason for price... but compared to it few new cars, part of map in a size of 1/5 original map, new faction, looks like a small addition compared to whole game, so the price should be comparable to the amount of addition... and the same applies to small DLCs imo

test drive 2 had rain , and it was 3 YEARS BACK...

will Ivory say that the actual generation don't have enough power to be able to make a decent rain?

Forza Horizon 2 has rain, and it runs on a console slightly less potent than ps4. So if even the XBOX ONE they can have rain, that means it´s totally possible.

I haven't been able to find a Horizon 2 map overlayed with The Crew map, but I'm pretty sure The Crew is bigger.

Massive map or shiny roads? Horizon 2 and The Crew are different games, if you want Horizon 2 everything on The Crew size map, you'll probably have to wait and see if they decide to expand Horizon 2 or just release more cars.

This is my (almost certainly wrong) map comparison.

Googled for both images, tried to match the maps road thickness to determine scale.

I really hope Ivory would consider releasing movie cars for DLC.

    1. Ecto-1

    2. General Lee

    3. Delorean Time Machine

    4. (Maybe) Christine

These cars are American movie culture, so I hope they'll be put sometime after release.

They might as well just put the TDU 2 maps in it. It's made by the same people and has the same style and environment so it would fit pretty good and naturally and they already got it made and don't need permissions to use their own work. Would be pretty cool. I'm up for alaska DLC with RAPTORTRAX.

The map can be 10 times bigger than it is now, it doesnt matter, only a fraction is loaded in the console's memory (both games do the sme), so the point is not the size, but the contents.
Also dont get impressed by the map size, it doesnt matter. Size doesn't matter in this point, and in most cases you can have a better controlled environment (activities, map design) with a smaller map.

Rain is basically half the game, because when raining the conditions can change drastically. It´s another driving style that has to be worked, or else you wont get it.

They tried to show us that we will have snow instead of rain, but rain can be applied to all roads, while snow is just in certain parts. It wasnt a smart move to let rain out of the table.

And in the end it´s what I told..... tdu2 had rain, and that was a 2007 game. There´s no excuse for not having it on the crew.

No, Ivory Tower wont' say that the newer consoles don't have enough power to be able to make a decent rain.

"Dynamic weather won't be in the game at launch, but will 'certainly' arrive later. At this moment, having the open world entirely working with rain would be a huge undertaking. At least they managed to get snow in one area. That was a first step. They will go further but it will take time. Fergus reminds the audience that they consider the launch as just the beginning of the game. Later on, Fergus adds that the map will evolve enormously (in terms of content, not size specifically)."

It just hasn't been implemented yet, most likely due to priorities.

-Casino DLC, activate gambling games (Maybe with others?) while parked in parking lots. Gamble for money or parts. For instance Poker Table or Slot Machine would fill the whole windshild (windscreen)
    -Hydraulics / Neon
-Ornaments and trinkets for dashboards and mirrors (Like Dirt2) / interior lighting
    -Electric Cars
    -Custom Ramps
-New weather types / sky colors
-New skill challenges (one called Target Hunter. where your car has mini-guns mounted on hood (bonnet)), and you shoot as many moving targets as possible, maybe offroad. Another called Moon Minute (Car temporarily has jump button. Objective is to Jump (mario style) for cash, and grab as much cash as you can in one minute
-Music DLC's (or custom mp3 station for consoles) Comedy Station
    -Drift Spec
    -Drag Racers
-Super Frim (higher payouts, parts and eventually cars)
    -Hawaii / Central America
    -Paint Shop
-Trucking or Hauling missions (like euro truck)
-Night / Day / Dusk / Dawn toggle
    -Voice GPS
-Custom Multiple Waypoints (or random multi-waypoint generator)
-Rocket Boost Hover Craft / Turbo Dune Buggy
    -Go Karts (agile and fast)
