Why does the PS4 version runs worse than the XB1 version in some ways?

FYI I own both versions of the game. So yes, I've personally seen this for months now.

The menus load up smoother on the XB1, including the start screen. The PS4 version often has stutters during gameplay, particularly when you've recently starting playing the game. You'll be racing along and suddenly the entire game hangs for just a moment and then continues on. This can happen over multiple tracks, but again, it's always very brief and goes on like normal. But still, why is this happening on the PS4 and not the XB1, when the PS4 is the more powerful console?

edit: the more I play the game after the recent update the more I think it doesn't run as smooth as it did previously. I'm seeing more screen tearing here and there, and there is also a new sound blip that pops out of the left speaker sometimes when a track begins loading.

edit 2: I've now had the game twice pop up a message saying "lan cable disconnected" in the middle of gameplay. The lan cable didn't get touched and was most certainly not disconnected. The message went away and things resumed as they should. I suspect this might also be related to the newest patch. Also, there is a bug with the notifications where each time I log on I'm being shown the same 24 notifications about things my friends have done. Each time I log on I clear out the notifications, and each time I log on the exact same notifications are back again. :/

I have a few days played on the main game and never, not once, experienced this. I actually bought an XB1 and PS4 to test out Trials on each system. Hands down, the PS4 played and looked noticeably better on the PS4. No tearing, higher resolution, better lighting, and so on. It was enough to return the XB1. That console is quite weak and was irritated they put all this time and money into Kinect and got cheap on the ram and video card. The PS4 is bad enough when you consider it will have to last 8 years.

I remember reading an article on how they were going to hit 1080p for the XB1...this was weeks after the release. I guess it was just another guy talking. There's no way the XB1 will run it at true hd. Resolution isn't the end all be all of consoles, but that coupled with lighting and playability is quite important.

Maybe you need to reboot your system and download the game again? It's odd you had this occur.

It has nothing to do with my console. The PS4 version also has some screen tearing, so if you haven't noticed that yet I'm not sure what to tell you.

Yes, the PS4 version does look better and run better, but that doesn't change anything I said in the original post.

The only difference I've noticed between both consoles is when restating certain tracks, the ps4 freezes slightly. Is no where near as bad as the 360 version of the game, but Xbox one is smoother when restating tracks.
