I think one of the few times that the new band sounds as good or even better than the two bands it spawned from, IMHOOriginally Posted by tjdrico Go to original post
I'm totally with you on that one. At least i think their music is of equal quality. I like to see them as a more Radiofriendly Version of Soundgarden mixed up with Morellos wild Guitar Solos.Originally Posted by BazzTard61 Go to original post
IMO many supergroups sound awesome. See Emerson, Lake &Palmer for instance which was one of the first supergroups by the end of the 60s. Actually I have a hard time finding supergroups that are not as good as the bands they originate from, but maybe they're not well-known because they failedOriginally Posted by BazzTard61 Go to original postIn recent years there have been quite a lot of them, but I really like Them Crooked Vultures for instance, Velvet Revolver, Audioslave, Liquid Tension Experiment, all these supergroups kick ***

Really, I do like Chickenfoot a lot ... but then I like Sammy Hagar's music for the most part.
I can't think of anyone that looks like they are having as much fun performing than Sammy Hagar.Originally Posted by rcole_sooner Go to original post
I am with you on this one. I am usually not one to gravitate towards that style of music, and Sammy has a history of some cringe-worthy lyrics. But I really like their back-to-basics approach, catchy songs, great tone and monsterous guitar work. It is nice to hear technical mastery played off-the-cuff and with whimsy.Originally Posted by rcole_sooner Go to original post
