I remember reading on a post before about mapping keys for radiator fully open and fully closed. However I can't find keystroke options for this in the controls setup in game. Is this possible and if so could anyone point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Thanks all.

There is only one key for radiator control, it is labelled "Cowl or Armour Flaps". It will cycle you through the various radiator settings one step per key press.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for those of us who have trouble remembering all the different controls ) there is no control to go directly to full open or full closed radiator, you just have to keep pressing the one key 'til you get the setting you want. This can be a problem if you have HUDLog turned off as there's no visual indicator short of looking at the actual radiator flaps. While this is feasible in 109's from the cockpit, in most aircraft it requires external views to be available.

Thanks tully, the cycle radiator key is what I have been using but as you say, as I want to fly with hudlog off, you cant tell what radiator setting you're on. Oh well guess I'll have to keep the hudlog on, thanks

Hi guys - as a newbie, this seems an appropriate place to ask :
What do the various radiator settings do ... ie. when should it be open and when closed.

I've never played with CEM, but I see a lot of the more realistic multiplayer servers have it, so I better learn.

    Thanks a lot

When you don't need every ounce of speed and your engine is too hot, open it. When you need to be as fast as possible, close it (but don't leave it closed too long). For the most part you can leave it on auto unless you're flying around at full throttle all the time (even then in some planes).
