Player retention and lack there of it....

Everyone here is roughly on the same fanboy wavelength...so we will all be playing Fusion for some time...probably.
What about the huge percentage of people who just leave it after a short while?
Currently, a top user track will get @1200 downloads for a week on the feed.
Broken down into a percentage of ps4 players...that equates to .2%. Not 2%, .2%. This is a dismal number for a great game and what are some great tracks.
What can be done by developers to create a progressive community feel to Trials? XP points? Cash? And what is it you're using these for?
I keep seeing XP points on the TC tracks and how it now rewards you with some. What does this do for you in the game?
If you're not rank obsessed, what desire...other than fun, does someone have to play the game?
A game like Destiny has progressive ranking where you unlock a ton of things, etc.
There are no new bikes, clothes, hidden tracks to unlock...and so on.

It's a shame because Trials is a great title. Multiplayer may have helped this, but I don't think so even. It's hard to see 500 thousand people literally evaporate. I'm sure the actual game has more people playing than 1000, but I would guess less than 5000. Is this standard in games like COD where you lose 99% of your install base within 5 months?

Every time I make a comment about the betterment of Trials, I laugh and think...improve the game for whom? The 6 folks still playing.

I must say that i dont think its all down to the actual game , speaking from a ps4 platform a big percentage havent even got one as of yet and are still on ps3.

I will however blame a lot of the lose of interest on the multiplayer aspect , not that i am waiting for it but my son stopped playing this game because he couldn't compete with his friends on a wider scale. Most games keep players interested because they can interact via the multiplayer with thier friend from school. i Know there is local but its not no where near the same. Gta , cod the new destiny keeps them all interested with not having to move their lazy asses out their seats as i my son knows when he gets a boot up his ***. Just playing a track on your own and playing through leaderboards is old school stuff. Why should people settle for that when there is so much more out there i dont blame them to be heonest.

I dont think that it really matters what more things are added to this game i think its simply people cant play together. Its a silly notion that in todays tech that there is still a hold on what is obviously not a problem for most games. Im unsure how the whole servers and so forth work and it is ubisoft who control it all isnt it? if so then how can a company that can bring the likes of assasins creed and many more games with multiplayer forward yet struggle so much with it for this game. Again i dont know all the details as to who does what and so forth or is it redlynx that controls it i dont know im a noobish lol.

My son simply got bored with what they had to offer , for me i dont think i have had that much fun out of a game for my money on this game than i have any other so there is so much potential for this game to be more active. I personelly think that as soon as assasins creed comes out this game will die and i suppose that happens and it certainly will if they dont sort out the multi player and other things thats just seem pointless . maybe the whole concept of people managing their own online gameplay isnt working any more.

In some ways i feel sad for redlynx becuase parts do really well , that live editor feed is a fantastic addition and dont think i have seen an hands on approach like that before but i dont think its advertised enough. Some people arent even aware that there is live tutorials for them to learn from. Its ok having these things but no point if people dont know they happening , i have watched it a couple of times but the times and places its advertised are kept to a minimum for what reason im unsure. This should be pushed more within track central to be honest i have no idea why such an important and fantastic things for the games is not in one of the feeds. It should be there , people dont want to search for things they want things to be at hand.

    I always forget something -

I also think that people tend to forget , its only a handfull that use the forum and hundreds who dont. Everything is put in the forum and not actually advertised within thegame its self. If i didnt come in here then the game would seem up and down and basicly all over the place. Things need to be more set within the game its self lile when you open up track central. Its ok if you come in here then things get explained sometimes lol or you start to understand why things happen or dont but without the aid of this i forum things would seem so out of control. People need to know things need to know why and how or what things ar efor but they dont want to search for it or even come up with the idea of looking. It would be fantastic to open up track central and see why thinsg are being changed , whats happeneing where and when and to be told things withouteven having to think i need to ask. thats what keeps gamers around. We are lazy creatures and if things arent at hand then we go elsewhere where they are...

I think the money and xp is intended for us to spend on fast cars and loose women ..lol

There is a lot to say and even more...not to say anymore.
Most likely a lot of people aren't going to be happy with what I am about to write, but to my opinion it has also to be said.

I never played Multiplayer games on Xbox, X360 or any other console I ever had unless it was on the pc.
Also Multiplayer wasn't the reason for me to buy Trials Fusion because I love to play a game and dream within it (maybe this is not the right way to say it but I hope you all understand what I mean)
However..after playing Fusion I couldn't help myself to buy everything else from Trials (indeed, that's how I love this game)
Because I wanted to improve my driving skills I ended on Youtube to watch some tutorials (TYSM Shady!!!) and here on this forum
Then after a few weeks reading all the same complaints over and over again..it came...I got fed up with all the people that keep complaining about issues that have been told already 189.765x in this forum.
Now really, let's be honest here....doesn't everyone know already that the developers are aware of the complaints people have and about the things that they should fix/develope/create and...are all those same people still under the (wrong) impression that these issues can be fixed in 2-3 hours or so???

Yess, there could be given more information from the developers, BUT isn't it so that in 99,9% of the cases that when you try to push (and keep on pushing each and every minute of the day) someone to work harder, faster and call them names while doing this that this person thinks "Hey.....calling me names?...I have a good idea....now I will let you wait even longer!"
This last thing is at least what happens when I try to do the same with my son.
Sometimes, it's better to sit back, be relaxed and to wait.....in many cases this works better then keep complaining and yelling and shouting names.

I think also that most people that came to this forum is just to express their frustration and not because they want to find a community which feels comfortable and who has the abbililty to make the (good) experience from a game even more atractive.
With this I mean...I personally love to communicate with people and share interests.
If this even results in becoming a better player (and for me this forum has helped me a real lot (Thx OTHC!) it's even more perfect.

I hope you all don't get me wrong on this.
I do understand that a lot of people bought this game for the MP aspect and that they are (so far) dissapointed but there are more important things in life to worry about then investing 20 euro in something that (again; so far) didn't forfill your expectations and remember...the issue, as well as all other issues will be solved in a matter of time...you just have to be patient and learn that it's better to focus on something possitive than spending your precious time on something negative.

    Sincerely yours,
    Frances

    Re-phrased post:

Players can have different goals in this game:

-Some play for single player content (in-game tracks/medals), challenges/achievements are an extra for some.
    -Some play for custom content
-Some play for creating custom content
    -Some play for multiplayer

    &combinations of the above

If you only focus on like the single player playthrough it goes something like this:
    -Finish the basegame.
-Hit a skill wall, usually on Hard&Extreme tracks the first playthroughs can cause some overwhelming, game becomes "easier" over time cause riding skills usually get better with time/experience of tracks/bike control.
-Move on to some other game before setting some longer-term goals in the game, like getting better at riding or building tracks, both take more time then just a single playthrough.

Personally multiplayer is an extra for me, not a need to keep playing, I by far spend most time in the editor. And maybe that's why I mostly get excited at those DLC object previews. It doesn't mean I don't like the ingame/custom tracks, they are great.

I still see a lot of Trials videos coming out on youtube daily, but it seems the majority aren't forumgoers here.

Of course a large part of the videos are single-player, in-game career track playthroughs.

It's really hard to get a picture of what the majority players want to keep playing , people do leave feedback here but it's only a small % of total playerbase.

So even seeing a lot of discussion on multiplayer, it's not the only future improvement/addition to the game, theres still DLC/Teams coming and then likely some untalked other things we don't know about.

I definately do notice a decline of playerbase/tracks coming out/forum activity as well but the game is far from "dead", and to me, Track Central users generate the flow that keeps the game going for me, as long as there's enough builders&people that play the tracks passionate about the game

I noticed last patch added more XP for TC tracks, and tournaments were added earlier which give XP as well, but as for now there's only so many unlocks with XP/Cash. But I'm sure it will eventually work out.

Each player/person has their own tastes/expectations and I fully respect that.

I'm not sure where you are getting your numbers, but you are consistently posting incorrect information as fact. Please don't do that.

The tutorials were made for Trials Evolution and are directly mentioned in that title. While many of the same ideas transfer directly over, they were not made specifically for Trials Fusion so they are not linked from Trials Fusion.

    This: http://www.twitch.tv/redlynxofficial

And I fully agree, this should be brought under the attention much more!
(Note: It would help also if the time/date would be mentioned in the title when the live stream starts)

We all knew multiplayer was going to be delayed before launch but I don't think anyone thought it would take 6 months. I don't how how long multiplayer takes to implement into games but it does seem overdue. I just want to point out that helmet icons, like used for ghost replays, will be unacceptable to me for multiplayer opponents. Please make sure we can see their bike and rider when it's released. Would also like that implemented into ghost times.
