We know the feeling bro, maybe this time around we could play...Originally Posted by usmovers_02 Go to original post
THIS!! SO MUCH THIS!! I spent an entire week pouring my love into a map, only for it to see maybe 24 downloads. My maps on FC2 saw over 1000 downloads. Why? Because the sharing was better.Originally Posted by usmovers_02 Go to original post
What are you guys talking about? You gotta make more escape maps. All my escape maps had 200+ downloads in FC3, and yeah im braggingOriginally Posted by legacyzero Go to original post

These maps look crazy! Although I've cropped the pictures out the quote,we'd love to see more ideas that everyone has regarding maps they'd like to make in the future, or maps they've already seen.[/QUOTE]
When i wasnt making MP maps i would go off and start making off road maps on FC2 that my friends and i would love to play. I loved how i could build almost any environment that i wanted, If we got stuck we were able to help each other out. But i was not able to do this with far cry 3 because vehicles were not involved in the MP. Now with FC4 i have loved that you have added snow, I just hope that when you are driving the snow actually changes the driveability of the vehicles. As for the editor i think added snow depth would be awesome, Also instead of just making puddles maybe actually add a mud setting that would replace the puddles. One more idea that would be awesome is actually being able to use a wench if you get stuck and being able to repair vehicles again (without the torch tool) i always liked it when that one bolt would come loose and i could just tighten it back up and keep on going

Can I ask who is the 'we' you're referring to? Ubisoft as a company obviously know full well what the community have been asking for (since the release of FC3) and since the game is released in about a month they know full well whether any of the frequently asked for features/fixes have been made. I assume they aren't actually still developing the MP now? so when you say 'we', do you mean 'we the community managers'? That seems to imply you are as in the dark as we are and will have news when the devs release it to the public, ie the same time as we'll see it on twitter etc.Originally Posted by Ubi_Jax Go to original post
Ubisoft (the developers) obviously 'have the news/info' but aren't releasing it to the customers, it seems strange they would keep their community managers out of the loop as well, you have my sympathy if that is the case!
Man, I hope so. I was so heart-broken when I put that much time in a map. The PERFECT MAP (well, IMO after many years of making maps on Far Cry), it had the perfect balance of gameplay, strategy, and for all modes.Originally Posted by xMiiSTY Go to original post
24 downloads.
It basically murdered the editor for me... Even worse is, I play on PC, so the community basically dwindles.
I have never been a fan of the Map Stats because once Far Cry 2 released a huge number of map makers became obsessed with how many times their map was downloaded and played.Originally Posted by legacyzero Go to original post
As a result some would not even do an update to a map which they knew had issues because they were not willing to let their stats be reset, IMO it was a sad time and changed things.
Another factor was a percentage would also only host their own stuff because again some were obsessed with stats, gone were the days where people could join a lobby and get a different map by a different author in a playlist. (Although there are still some who like to host quality maps by others)
With Far Cry 3 they said the system for downloading and sharing would be better but it was appalling, The best way would be to strip it back and just get rid because this would allow people to concentrate on enjoying and playing maps instead of looking at figures instead.
(This isn't aimed at you legacyzero) It is just a sign of the times, Far Cry will never be the same as it used to be unfortunately.
