I convinced 4 people to buy FC 3..... because fc2 was so awesome... they all swore at me for making them buy a broken game.
Does anyone know if FC4 will have a proper lobby system that lists all the available games / lobbys with the game type, map type, and rules etc????
I LOVE ESCAPE MAPS!!
I originally made sky race...does anyone remember that??? two ramps that go up and criss cross up and up and up 1000 feet in the air to a floating platform. There were guns that spawned up there... everyone took vehicles or went on foot and raced to try to get to the top..that was awesome... Everyone loved that map.
I want to know if the map editor in fc4 will have the option to do NO TIME LIMIT, preset gun loadouts, cutsom games in general that anyone can randomly join
thanks
I'm assuming from the silence that we are getting the same crap matchmaking system we had in FC3.
If Ubi want some good feedback from the Far Cry Community they had better get some info released soon. They already lost half their fans the last time round, and alot of guys only bought FC3 on the back of FC2's success.
I remember the original Sky Race on FCIP by MONGOOSE 360
And also Sky RACE2 by NightPanda007 (again on Pred)
I did one called Crazy Sky Racer (there were lots of variations but the 1st was the best IMO)
SkyRaceEVOLVED by XyBeRsId
Warren Clyde also made Clydes Sky Race 1 / 2 & 3
Problem was the vehicles in FC2 were pants and there was no weapon placement so it was never going to be as fun unfortunately.
Part of Far Cry 2s charm was the unresponsive and sluggish controls, over the years, people could climb the skill ceiling ladder for over all aspects of the multiplayer. But the vehicles yes, you could not make a race map, once a player was ahead, there was no way to lose the lead. You would have to make a multicourse like some people did, but even then...
I really, really hope that the mutliplayer design errs further in the direction of freedom, akin to the design Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry 2 established, rather than pretty much being limited to conventional FPS multiplayer experiences. It's so bizarre to me that rather than building on their core competency and really fleshing out the niche they already had with FC3's much improved mechanics they basically went out of their way to limit people from doing the type of things they enjoyed doing most in Far Cry multiplayer games. Escape maps and obstacle courses being but two examples. While we're on the topic of returning multiplayer experiences, they really need to create a gametype that servers as a spiritual successor to Predator, possibly featuring a supernatural monster with similar abilities as the Predator had. I don't know why they thought abandoning FCI's most popular and iconic game mode by FAR, was somehow a good idea. The mode itself was really fun, and tense as a marine, but became a power trip when you became the Predator. It was also dynamic enough to really enable all kinds of experiences for map creators / party leads to craft.
While they're at it they should add an infection / Zombies gametype, similar to the fan created gametype in Halo 2, which was made official in Halo 3, with a comparable level of options, that's another game mode that is really dynamic, and enables all kinds of creativity.

These maps look crazy! Although I've cropped the pictures out the quote,we'd love to see more ideas that everyone has regarding maps they'd like to make in the future, or maps they've already seen.Originally Posted by FALLEN CHAMP Go to original post
