Sounds like a good idea but what an opportunity gone to waste to entice more builders in to track central. I have noticed that most new builders that are half decent go unmised because of the hundreds of tracks that are liked purely based because they are on the friends lists. The builders mentioned are the same builders that i see day in day out getting rewarded for thier out standing work and yes nobody can argue with that. How many times do the same builders have to be patted on the back. Maybe my words are wrong but my intentions for this reply are very geniune and take nothing away from how good they are. Whats the point in giving top highlighted spots to the same people all the time ? i know this is a monthly thing but come on guys its unfair on your community and to other people who also put hours on end in their tracks. " Something new for the builders " opened up once again by the same faces.

There is other builders who maybe arent as great but are great for the skill level they are at and in my opinion its them that you want to be saying well done too. track central is overloaded with tracks that your lucky if you get noticed so how on earth are you suppose to get any further with your creations when ever slot if given to the same people all the time. This community might as well have 20 members because thats all that it seems to be aimed at. I know its not the case but i am a member and i am sure i wont be the only person feeling like that. Why do we need another place to say that the people we have already said are awsome builders many of times. we need to say again. because thats all thats going to end up like.

The players in track central keep this game alive , any type of builder from poor to skilled makes the games for us and and again what happens , a spotlight place for the same people. I see it all in the forum , same names same pat on backs. No wonder people dont stay around long because there is nothing to keep new builders around. Why come up with a great idea for the featured slot only to put the same people in there. Why would you want them in one slot and then in another. whats the point ?

Why feature something you have featured hundreds of times. Why do we need to see peoples work again i thought a feature was suppose to be something new , a look at new things ?

I cant be the only one who thinks this and it might only be a small percentage that does but its a percentage. To say that the same few people go round and round and round in every highlight wheel does not say much for the builders in track central. Im annoyed for the gamers , myself and for other people who put hours of work into thier tracks.

There is now doubt that for the next 12 months the feature reel is filled already with the same people we have seen cross platformed or gighlighted already or the " in ones " in the forum. i know this wont be liked i i really do not mean to offend anyone i am just saying that why do we need to be told about these same builder over and over. We know they are great , what about ones we dont know about ? i want to see them. they might not be as good but might have diferent ideas. as i have seen most of the top quality tracks that come across are all the same. amazing but the same. Wheres the ones that re original or try things they possibly shouldnt. Isnt it mainly about being creative and not sticking to a rule book anyway im just annoyed that we are going to see the same thing again we have seen before , seen of you tube , seen from crossplatforming seen from trails picks vids and so forth.

How is this going to help new builders ? or infact help the majority of track central. Stand in a circle and pat the next one on the back lol , well dome chap

Wheres the new builders ? oh there isnt any since 1940 . All this is going to do is give the same faces even more coverage. like they need any. This is going to help a few selected already well known builders what about the thousands of others who give time towards track central ?. there isnt just 20 or 30 gamers. Yet another place to feature the already featured. Its a total sham , politicians come to mind lol.

I can understand where you are coming from Funktastic; it is a shame that so many builders go unnoticed by the majority of the Trials community. It is discouraging to prospective creators, and has probably steered away a few potentially amazing builders, but I think that is why this Featured Feed update is all the more necessary. I believe its true purpose is to help the community find those new, creative individuals who are going to push the Trials franchise into exciting new directions. It is unfair to label this first round of picks as the precedent to which all other creator picks will be made, as it is the first "Track Creator of the Month" ever. This is the first time individual builders have been highlighted in whole, and not just single tracks like RedLynx Picks of the past or the new Uplay Recommended tracks. They probably wanted to have a solid base to start upon, which is why I suspect they picked amazing builders like HES92, Rishaan, and ConfusedMuscles.

I hope that my pick may serve as a counter-argument to what you view as a recurring, or entrenched selection of builders. I was in no way a popular builder on Evolution. I created maps on the sunset of its lifespan, and I garnered little support from the community. I appreciated every feedback from D2 Dahaka, Acritarch, and Guunners. It meant the world to me that people were commenting on what I was doing, and the fact that I enjoyed creating Skillgames made it all the better. Yet when I spent 4+ weeks on each of my COD Zombie maps to only get ~5 comments on them, I was disheartened greatly. At times I considered giving up, but I stuck with building. The community of Trials is great, but Track Central is vast. I understood that not all builders who spend hours, days, weeks on their work get noticed. Only recently has my work been seen by a large number of people, and I am so grateful for all of it. I don't pretend to be an established or regular builder, I rarely release 1 map a month. I would still consider myself one of those "new builders" you are describing; I've barely been with the franchise for a year. For me, it is a great honor to have been picked next to known builders like HES92, Rishaan, and ConfusedMuscles.

Point in case, I know that Kush Land 604 on Xbox One probably spend days on his amazing tracks, but ,in my opinion, he is severely unrecognized as a great builder. Only recently has one of his tracks been made cross-platform, even though I remember some of his tracks all the way back from Evolution. You can say he was a returning builder who has yet to get his place in the spotlight. This is the reason why I think this new Featured Builder of the Month was installed, and why it is a great addition to Trials. It is meant to highlight those builders who go unnoticed everyday, but still produce amazing content; new or returning alike. I don't think it will as you say be "filled already with the same people we have seen cross platformed, or highlighted already, or the " in ones " in the forum". I trust and believe in RedLynx to select great builders regardless of their current perceived "standing" in the community.

I appreciate how respectful you were in your post Funktastic, I enjoyed reading and responding to your argument. I understand how discouraging it can feel when someone gets re-highlighted in the feeds, but in the end I think the Trials Community can collectively find these great builders that go unnoticed and give them their deserved praise.

    Best Regards,

    Funktastic...well said.
RL tends to reward the same builders they like over and over. Which makes sense....to a point. There are so e great builders out there who deserve the picks, etc. My issue is with builders who constantly build the same theme...over,,and over, and over. Some have even been hired by Ubisoft...not mentioning the name.
What is creative about making a rock theme over and over. To me, being a good creator is coming up with new themes and ideas. I used to try new things more often, but have fell to the stagnant heavy decor driveline...which is usually what gets picked. There's nothing wrong with great decor and a stagnant driveline, but always thought animation was overlooked in Trials and physics.
There should be an "up and comer" builder feed. Someone new to building, but shows promise and quality tracks. You coul even have a "verified" builder feed. It's usually obvious who puts time into decor/driveline...just give those people a feed. There are so many boxes on the feed. Why not have newest Trials. Now you'll be left with 4 other boxes for relevant feeds. Builder of the week, up and coming builders, top ninjas, etc.

Agree 100% We need MORE animation. It is way too overlooked. Builders please work more animation into your tracks! When I say that, I'm talking full-on animation.

We never see it; we need it!

Everyone pretend you're in the Team Of 5 and animate EVERYTHING! Background, foreground, driveline... if possible animate your track description.

Animate this post when you reply to it.

Animation is awesome and not at all distracting if done too much in the background and horrible when done constantly in the drive line.

Animate a duck buying a penguin a drink and have the penguin say "I can't pay for this" and the duck is like "Just put it on my bill".

    This will keep things fresh.

I kid around but this idea could be good. I understand Funk's counterpoint but eventually they will run out of usuals and begin to feature others. I can fully understand why they would start off with builders who have been good for a while because selecting featured builders would get them excited if the first few times they clicked it they get great tracks.

So, suprisingly, I have no gripes with the concept. I think it is a good idea and understand the logic behind it entirely.

    That said, please, MORE animation.

I try to feature many different builders in my PC listing(updated spreadsheet version being worked on), recording their tracks & putting them on my channel to make them known.

This is purely a 1 man voluntary activity in my free time out of my love for the game, to at least diversify the PC side of things.

Unfortunately I just cannot cover all tracks at once so sometimes I have to skip some in favor of others, I just cannot cover 2000 tracks but I try my best to filter out quality stuff, and it does not automaticly mean the not-shown tracks/builders are bad.

Now that the 1000 limit is in place I will definately go back and look for more "older" tracks it's not just the weekly top rated I look at.

I have no control over the console side of builders/tracks, I just try my best for PC

More back to Topic: This is only the start of this "project" so let's just see where this will lead in the coming months

only reason i personally make "stagnant " drivelines is because im garbage with opes .simple as that . on the flip side theres nothing worse than bad animations .instant rage . tbh the only person who could do them properly was elmonator. he made them enjoyable . on the builder of the week tip . give them chance . obviously there going to use well knowns at the start .then they will have to start digging . it will get harder as the weeks go on with the state of tc . .

As it somehow went over my head I forgot to thank you guys for the pick! I am honored to have been chosen as one of the first featured builders. I appreciate all the support from you guys!

Hi and thank you for the reply and also for the respect you have given me back because some would have taken what i said harshly when it was meant sincerly. It just is disapionting to hear about up coming new things happening in the community only for them to always turn out to highlight the already top builders. I was looking forward to what was going to happen to the featured after reading it within a thread a few days back. I understand that each top builder has their own liked builders and as you say some i haven't heard of but isn't it proof within its self that a new comer like my self is well informed already about a few selected builders.

People will see the featured and sense the same is coming , the posts after this thread was started for instances. Builders are pointing out same familiar builders as should be picks. Like i said i in no way take anything from quality builders but i cant agree that its best to start something with something different than the purpose its meant for . I mean if they intent this spot to be for the unknown then surely the unknown should present it , start as you mean to go on as they say. I dont want to see the same builders again when i have already seen their work and continue to do so and as good intentions as you say this has for upcoming people is most like as far as its going to get i fear.

As you say it is disheartening for tracks to go unnoticed , builders to get just a few likes on a track that has taken hours of effort. To be honest sometimes its dam right idiotic how some tracks are up there with 700 likes when there is other tracks with a few likes at the bottom when they are so obviously more game worthy and solely being because of the rating system. This isn't really what i was talking about but as a whole what i was saying was there is nothing for builders to be encouraged by when they are tire some of the whole system. So this is where redlynx should step in and encourage people to carry on by motivating them with other ways. Hence giving them something to build tracks for other than track of the week. It goes without saying you have to enjoy building and that's the main reason we do it , but everyone likes to be patted on the back and appreciated. Not every builder is going to get noticed and thats the way everywhere but it does come to a point where you have to sit back and look at the actual community. What do new builders have ? what do we have to encourage us to carry on and expand our creativeness ?. There isnt anything yet there has been and is a few places for well known people to be more well known and encouraged.I also dont mean new builders i also mean old builders that have stopped for the same reason as i am speaking of.

I fear that this is just going to create more chances for the same people but we will see hopefully i am wrong and you can all point at me lol

Vagastrash , sorry not sure how to put more than one quote in

Anyway i also agree about the same tracks being built oh and the same tracks being put up for a different bike over and over. I also think extreme tracks should have an entire different voting system and track of week but i suppose we could go on and on. Something does need to be done about tc tho its a mess. We have uncared for tracks on top of track of the week , just dont seem right to me.

I would like to say also that my intent of my post was purely because i have become passionate about this game even though i am rubbish at it. I think the editor is an awsome tool and should be used within more games. It has it flaws as everything does but to be honest i am a little shocked at how i have come to like building tracks so much when i came across this game accidently. Its like you loose your self and then 3 days later your misses pops her head round the door and says " you still alive ". Its for this reason that i posted , i want to see more creators , more ideas and interaction from more members in any form. I also think it would be good for new builders to grow their skill in a featured slot because feedback can be given and friends gained. I am sure that this will in turn help the more quality builders too as they can advise or help with tips and gain more followers so to speak I mean nobody gets any feedback , how is someone suppose to know what i good driveline is if nobody helps. More often than not a track is just dissliked without saying or giving help to inprove future tracks they build , but i think this would happen in a featured slot. they will be approached more and helped more. Pushed forward and expand their creativenes and yes i have my own dictionary lol.

to all that responded thanx for the replys ,

cheers for taking the time to read much appreciated
