I said "realistic" not realistic, with that I mean that it's realistic in his own way, and not a war simulator

One word "Immersion" like xRaDRoacHx said. Not only the godlike healing abilities of Jason annoyed me but also having to go to all these different menus. In some situations I felt like I was playing a "menu simulator".... And you're right Far Cry 2 was far from a perfect game but it had that amazing immersion that no other (except Metro Last Light) shooter has. I've said this before that I think that the setting was more interesting than the one in Far Cry 3.

In my opinion Far Cry 3's sp was really good except for the immersion and the story. The gunplay was good, the open world was filled with collectibles, the hunting was great, etc. but if I'm honest then I have to admit that I enjoyed Far Cry 2 more than Far Cry 3.

The sad thing is that we still can not go prone, something you could do in the Far Cry Instincts series and although I played the remastered version of the original Far Cry game on console I can't remember if that allowed us to lie down while crawling or shooting - I hope they bring that back with the next game.

Had to edit after reading that again - With the next game I mean Far Cry 5 as it is clear that prone will not be in FC4

You're right, it would be nice if it made a return

I must agree, the transition from jungle to savannah and desert was great in FC2. I'm assuming FC4 has similar transitions due to elevation.

I would like to see Australia for the next setting. Australia could take the 2nd part of the story to New Zealand or Tasmania which would give a massive landlocked environment in the first part of the story followed by an island type environment for the 2nd. Maybe travel there in a submarine.

I have to say that Far Cry has never, and I hope will never be a "tourist destination", because that would make the meaning of the title, "Candy Land". Far Cry needs to be in areas of extreme conflict - like FC2 was in Africa, where civil war and strife are very real things - REALISM, that made FC2 unique with plausibility, and with no sciFi, or other special powers. To have it in Australia, or New Zealand would be laughable - scenery aside, hence my rant on "tourist destinations". Central and South America are far more realistic and plausible due to military and government corruptions, not to mention the many junta governments that part of the hemisphere experiences. I would take the story back to parts of Africa again, yes, because all hell is breaking loose there, OR I would take it to the Middle East. Many mercenary stories could be cooked up there, fighting ISIS and all, but not make it another COD.

Ha, you didn't have to spend that much time in the menus bro, unless you were really bad at navigating them. Once you know what you're going to the menu for it would be like 10 seconds in the menu max...

It'd be pretty cool to take all the design ideas that are good from FC3/4 and put that back into the african setting. I loved the variety of environments in FC2 and it was definitely unique in the shooter space. It did look really brown and drab because they said when they went to africa it was like the dirtiest place everywhere so they wanted to convey that it's a dirty drab place to be...
