Why can you like/dislike a track if you dont even finish it. I make low level ninja tracks so every like is very important for that track to get in top rated of the week. I dont mind if someone finishes it and leaves dislike but its when someone doesn't finish it and leaves a dislike. Also its open for abuse ppl who dont like you for some reason or another can just get to the first checkpoint and spam circle 500 times and i no some idiot who i wont name is doing that on the last 2 of my tracks.
Hey there buddy
Personally I like that you can dislike a track you havent finished. Sometimes I spam "O" just to dislike, but that is when I'm so frustrated that I can't focus on finishing the track and I really want to give pointers to the track creator that something is wrong. I just wish I could just leave the track and rate it bad instead of getting a sore thumb lol
This is what makes me dislike a track = I'm talking about objects obstructing the view, no check points after every obstacle, making it really frustrating that you have to redo an already passed obstacle, especially if the obstacle is very difficult. And I can also leave a dislike for an unbalanced obstacle, that has clearly not been tested.
Many track creators make very desolate tracks (noobs lol), I usually just get trough it even though its booring as f*** just to leave a dislike.
I'm not sure if I have left one of your tracks a bad rating, but if I have, it may be one of the above reasons.
Being able to like/dislike a user created track is good, even when you cannot finnish a track (like due lack of skill)
I would rather see a sort of complement to it for the same reason that HeavenlyGuy gives.
With this I mean, the option to give certain comments (click & votes) like:Originally Posted by HeavenlyGuy Go to original post
* Driveline could be improved
* Evaluate your check points
* Objects obstructing the view
Next to this I think it COULD be wise to mention the name of the person and the vote they gave (not sure if this is already the case because I never uploaded a track) because with this it would be possible to give a certain rate to a vote. (I presume there will be people also who vote always bad, even if it's a great track)
absolutly, and thats probably why they didn't finish itOriginally Posted by geordiedeviant Go to original post
maybe people should even be able to vote after they spend x ammount of time on a track and decide to leave, because it takes some serious effort to spam b button 500 times or wait 30 min
maybe this is the reason why the feeds are filled with crappy ninja's because the people that dislike "can't" vote (the ones that actually spend some time on the track)
It would be nice to have a list of feedback options that could be selected after finishing or faulting out on a track, something along the lines of what Princessfran said would be good. Even if only the track creators can see it it might help them tune their future tracks. The thumbs up/down system is also too simple for an accurate rating. On Evo if a track had wicked decorations but a poor DL I would rate it between 2-3, if both DL and deco were good then it's a 4-5 depending on overall quality - which is definitely better than Fusions current system.
There's been a few tracks I've tapped to 500 just to rate it bad due to a variety of reasons (really bad driving line, broken obstacles etc), but if the track works well and it's my skill that ran out then I wouldn't rate it bad. If you try a ninja without being a ninja then it's usually not the track makers fault.
i couldnt be botherd do all that just to rate a track down . im sure not voting and saving your finger does the same thing . ifi dont like a track or it gets garbage half way through i just back out and move on .and disliking a track to help the creator ? why not sent him a nice message .because he probably not psychic about his shortcoming on the track .
Thats the problem kidmpc , everyone seems to have all these ideas of what a track should be like they forget or cant be bothered to actually engage in feedback with the creator. Lets face it someone who disslikes a track when hours of work has gone into whether its pants or not is just either spiteful or has joined the game. Does it really matter if the tracks not up to someones standards , just simply dont like it. I am guilty my self and i think we all are of thinking ( well everyones doing it to me so i might as well or i wont get anywhere and it shouldnt be like that). Most of the time i just wont comment on a track if i dont like it , Then we also forget that the track we could be disliking could most likely be of a ten year old how mean is that. I say either talk with the creator or just dont comment on the track.
i think that some actually thinks its fun to dislike tracks , when as a whole it doesnt really matter because it usually works its self out at the end , you can get a fair judgement of if you track was liked if say you have over 90% likes. I have already found a couple that constantly disslike my tracks and usually you can work it out from leaderboards especially if you have had to put a fix up. It dose make me laugh when you see some on the replays using the charactor to troll you and wast thier own time. Do people really think just because they do that , that we are going to stop making them. at the end of the day if ppl continue to do this most ppl with stop making tracks hence they wont have anything to play. So they are only messing thier own game up and most likely do that everywhere in everywalk of life. Builders can just move on , they are stuck just being mean.
Maybe one of the dev's could implement an optionfor people to vote for the difficulty of the track as a start to see how this would work as a testcase.Originally Posted by princessfran Go to original post
Sometimes I come across a track that is rated Medium while it's (for my capability) rather extreem.
At least it would give the creator the option to determine what other people would rate the track.
The problem is more that most people won't take the effort to send a message to the creator, they just find it too much huslle and with a voting system like this the creator gets easy feedback which should be a good thing.
