Hey everyone. Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. I did a search and didn't find any answers.
About to switch from iOS to Android, and need to take my Trials Frontier progress with me.
According to Ubisoft, if I'm logged into UPlay, than my saves are on their cloud storage. When I log into UPlay on Android, I'm back at level 0.
I've put money into this game, so I'd be royally pissed if my progress is tied to the iOS version only.
Anyone tried this/did this? I'm not looking for a "just jailbreak your iOS/root your android" solution. I would think that UPlay would be designed with this in mind.
Thanks!
as i understand it, saves are platform specific. similar to fusion, where your profile and progress are different, say, between PC and Xbox 1, iOS and android are separate.
Ch4er0n is right. It's not possible, saves and leaderboards are seperate for iOS and Android. Also both platforms have different versions, iOS has a newer version with more content, wich would make a save file transfer technically more difficult.
I am playing on iOS on my phone and also on an Android tablet, when i joined Android i also had to start a new career.
I have migrated a profile some time ago (not including leaderboards) from IOS to Android but they were on the same version I think (so money, gems, bikes everything except LB).Originally Posted by IanLGagnon Go to original post
You have to copy the player.bin file from IOS to Android and for this you need to have jailbreak on IOS and root on android and assigning some permissions to this file.
Dont know if this still works though since I dont have a jailbreaked Iphone anymore.
Getting player.bin doesn't require jailbreak; there are lots of tools that can access/update IOS data (iFunBox is very popular for this).Originally Posted by wmadoss2014 Go to original post
Biggest issue is how the versions aren't in sync; there will be data there android doesn't understand yet. If you are lucky it would crash (high chance). If you are not lucky, it would corrupt your server-side copy and you'll have bizarre issues nobody else does, forever.
Your choice, but not worth it, IMO.
Ok well I think you need root on android though.
But I did it with the same version so without a problem.
I also do regular backups of my player.bin incase the server side crashes.Going to try from the newest IOS version to android later this week aswell just to see what happens.
Good luck!Originally Posted by wmadoss2014 Go to original postIt would be cool if it worked. Also... let us know what happens to your personal times and global LB times... should be interesting.
Transferring data between iPhone and Android phone seems not easy, especially when the data is huge. Of course, if you have backed up your iPhone data to computer, you can transfer them to Android phone via a USB cable quickly. What if those data on iPhone are unique? In this case, they can't be moved to Android phone.
Actually, without any tedious and troublesome, you have an easy way to solve this matter with the help of Mobile Transfer program, which can totally tackle your t***** problem and cope contacts including the ones in your iCloud, Exchange and other accounts, SMS, songs, movies and pictures to your Android phone. Mobile Transfer is a simple but effective phone transfer tool to transfer data. You just need one click, then you can transfer the data you wanted between iPhone and Android phone and never need to worry about any data loss during the transfer.

just to mention that I just successfully moved my profile from android (v3.0.3) to IOS (3.0.1) by simply copying the player.bin file to my Ipad (via ifunbox).
at first my Ipad said that I needed to upgrade the game to a more recent version (that does not exist...) then suddenly the next day for some reason it worked
Now I can enjoy my 44 level and fully upgrade bikes on both systems
My global ranking is conserved, the only problem is that the ranking on each individual race does not appear unless I beat my own record, after which everything is fine.
the consequence of this is that initially ANBA could not find a new opponent, then after I beat a few of my records it started to find opponents again, although only on those races where I set a new record on IOS and for which I now have a ranking.
But apart from this problem this works great !
