I've purchased all available items and am currently sitting on $1,000,000.

Would be nice to use it for something

I'd like to see some stuff like this:
new bike paints(patterns or stickers)
bike kits
rider/bike stuff from ranking high in tournaments (can't be too rare or #1 spot only else it'd be really hard to get, balance it out).

Could add like some unlockable gear for multiplayer too, and then either make it unlocked or purchaseable, like a multiplayer "set" of rider gears.
"win 10 public supercross matches"
"win 25 public Trials matches"
"play 100 public matches"

Or a multiplayer/tournament currency system with tokens but that's taking it even further from just the ingame money and probably not the best way to expand.

Make the hardest (time wise) to get stuff from in-game money.

Of course this is to me very low priority below all other additions/fixes. Just ideas for some optional stuff.

And don't limit this to any DLC either.

I recall one of the plans for Tournaments was to include gear as a prize. Perhaps they are planning a bunch of new items that you can either win in tournaments or buy.

1. New wheels $200,000
2. New body kit $200, 000
3. New head piece: $200, 000
4. New body piece: $200, 000
5. New pants: $400, 000

And that will be just ONE DLC.

Uhmm, Bought a few things like the wheels for 45K but still got almost 480.000 left.
Unfortunately I'm not good enough to clear the extreem tracks to get some nice things but I hope that they come out one day with a golden bike or something:P
