What else can we expect in the next patch?Originally Posted by En0- Go to original post![]()
Next patch? Ubilynx could care less about TC...that's the reality. I've been listening to them chime on about "continually improving the Trials experience".
Ok....when? It's the typical appease the fans comment. TC is a horrid mess. From day one, they overlooked it. Aside from a few small...small...fixes made over 2 months back, what has been done really? You need a moderator for TC and an upload limit per creator. A separate feed for TRUE trials tracks, then another feed for other things, such as challenges, etc.
See, the problem with fixing things 8 months after a release is....nobody will be playing your game at that point. Even now, TC is almost a ghost town...I wonder why? It's not incorporated into the game. Not even basic functions like "Featured" or "RL picks" have been addressed.
Ninja challenges suck up 50% of your feed. Who wants to create in this environment? Great tracks on XB1 aren't picked for Uplay...usually if they have DLC, which is ironic as you'll sell more DLC featuring DLC content user tracks.
You need to launch a title with a functioning TC and incorporate it into the actual game. Have your standard RL picks weekly, use those in your tournaments...the ones nobody plays now. Have some kind of progression in the game, other than useless XP points you can do nothing with...same for the cash.
2 DLC's, not one new bike, outfit, bike modification? Continually improving the Fusion experience? Epic delusions.
Well, I feel better. I'm sure all of 2 people will read this one..haah
You need better management Ubilynx. It all comes from there. Back in the day, Redlynx had full control over the game and look at how much they did with more limited resources...amazing. And yet I'm sure they were still a profitable company.
By the way, Way of the Machine is a great trackAnd I won't mention the lack of tracks in DLC pack either...oops.

Can you please list the improvements that have already been made in Track Central since launch?
Cheers,
There have been multiple updates and improvements made to Trials Fusion, we've averaged one update a month, which, when you actually look at development cycles, actual submission time frames per update, Quality Assurance, internal testing, third party testing, platform compliance.... There's a WHOLE lot that goes into each patch/update and having one a month isn't a slow leisurely process. There have been updates made to track central, more updates will be made to track central, but there is a development schedule. The updates and changes made to the way that previously "finalized" features work are being made in addition to each person's other responsibilities.
Does this matter to players? No, it's the way of the development. But to use blanket statements that we "could care less" about any aspect is false, and it belittles the team that has worked their asses off on this game. There have been well over 100 bug fixes, as well as improvements to many aspects of Trials. We have a lot of things planned, but we don't usually talk about those because sometimes people get angry that new additions, even if worked on instantly, will not be added to the game until they work well in an update that passes testing, compliance, and certification, which is NOT an instantaneous thing. It takes time.
There will be news on Featured Tracks soon, but both Shogun and myself agree that the RL Picks feed works is currently covered by the Uplay Recommended feed. It's kinda redundant and a bit unnecessary. Point is, by all means speak your mind, let us know what you like and don't, what you think could work better. But please don't try to speak on behalf of RedLynx or Ubisoft, especially not people who I talk to on a daily basis and are very passionate about the experience that people have while playing their games.
When I say you don't or they don't care...it's the management of the team, not the people who carry out the work. I'm sure they do care about their job, but certainly not about track central. TC would have never been released in the initial state, if there was anyone overseeing it who knew something about Evo's TC. How do you regress in a sequel?Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai Go to original post
It was clearly not as good...this isn't even my opinion, but the community as a whole...as many have mentioned.
As far as Uplay picks taking place of RL picks, I would initially agree...however, the time to port tracks is much greater than picking 5 per week per platform. There is little or no coding for that. Why not do this in addition? Uplay picks could be the best of the best. Now, the picks are ok...but nothing that really stands out. The Featured section hasn't really been touched in over 4 months....accept for the skill game you mentioned. Why should this even still be discussed? This should have been address within a month of launch. There is no real coding to put a few tracks there, same for RL picks.
The most obvious thing....there is no moderator on TC. You have forum mods, why not make TC about...real Trials tracks? Can you honestly go on TC and say it's a good representation of the game? How many people probably go on and think....this is crap...never look again. There needs to be a moderator or at least a track upload limit to eliminate the ninja tool challenge spammers.

Good question. What fixes really have been made to TC? As far as I saw, after 2 months you were able to view the weekly feed correctly....where tracks wouldn't stay there for 3 weeks. An extreme feed was added. Other than that, I can't say much. I don't think one fix has been made in over 2 months. The last patch you guys had did nothing for TC.
Is this a trick question you had? I'm honestly searching for more, but aside from minor back end big fixes....I don't see any real change there.
Uplay cross picks require a bit of time to code, I'm sure. Why spend all that time on tracks that are not even the best ones created? This is subjective, but just look at the TTJ2C and you can see the quality is far higher than the last Uplay picks. Tracks with dlc aren't even considered and almost no extremes are on there. I already stated this, but these things are so obvious it's a wonder the team hasn't addressed it.
I would feel better if someone just said, look....we appreciate your love for the game, but the reality is TC is an addition and not our main focus. If it's well implemented or not, we sell the same amount of games....so why spend the resources for just a few hardcore fans/builders?
I could least get on board with that statement
I know you are both Ubilynx employees, so even if you agreed with me, you wouldn't say anything. Who blasts the company they work for publicly. When Evo came out Redlynx was awesome and prompt with their fixes. They even launched with multiplayer....what a concept
Why not have a moderator for TC? You could weed out all the crap and have a good feed of quality tracks. You could even have "track of the day". A bit simple in concept, but would keep people engaged. Put it right on the main menu...big thumbnail. XP points, cash...should have some point, they don't.
I only passed the 8th grade in school, but could run your company better....the first part of the sentence was a joke.

Hey Vegatrash,
You may be passionate but you make a lot of assumptions in your posts that make them really annoying for us. Is the situation perfect? No. Is it improving? Yes. As quick as players and devs would like? No, it's never quick enough. But then you make assumption about what we care, what we think, etc... That's annoying (and I am polite). As I said in an earlier post, you can expose facts and ask questions. But please don't write posts where you state our opinions. It's not right.
Also, if I look at your recent (last 2 weeks) historic of posts on the forums, that's negative and not constructive (maybe the last one started to be). You're also undermining anything we say or do. I don't see how that's helping anything.
The major improvements we pushed since launch:
- Making the necessary for cross platform sharing through Uplay feed. (June I believe...)
- Adding support for UGC supercross tracks (that was a request in day 1) (July)
Then there is a lot of other smaller improvements (the extreme feed, the changes on the weekly one, the display of the rating, and lot of other bugs).
We moderated last week TC as it has been requested on the forum by Jeruhnq and we keep doing it. We're removing spam but we're not removing "low quality" tracks, we explained why (some people can have put a lot of efforts in their small crappy tracks, if it's not what players expect, it will be downvoted and the track will disappear from the feed).
Contrary to what you're saying, players can go on TC and get easily some high quality tracks from the community.
We also explained why the tracks that were in the last Uplay recommended feed were quite old tracks (ready for a while, because we didn't have anyone lately to port newer, etc...).
So, we're quite transparent, we're involved on the forum to answer questions. As Shifty said, no problem with the feedback, no problem with any question, just stop thinking you know what is our opinion or how things are going inside the dev team. There is a difference between "As the TC improvements are coming slowly, it's clear they don't care about it" and "I wish the improvements on TC would come quicker and that bothers me a lot".
Regards,
Eno-
I can't disagree with you in my presumptions of how things are run there. These aren't fact, but opinion...some.
The most simple oversight I pointed out was the lack of RL picks and the Featured section. This isn't even a coding fix...it's having Badger and Shogun address it and pick a few tracks. This doesn't take much time, even for 4 platforms. It's a blatant oversight and lack of care exhibited by your company.
The supercross sharing seems utterly useless, as there is no online play....am I wrong? Challenges and tricks...also a waste. I know, I'm just one schmucm on the internet with an opinion....but this takes away from real development of the core experience.
That being said, Fusion has some good elements to it....graphics on the ps4 mainly. More of a technology thing though, than any core improvement. The dlc's have been nice with great decor and well thought out drivelines. The game has no progressive system to it, as mentioned....xp points and cash...useless.
Here's a good idea, have a thread where people vote on future fixes in order of importance. That's that thing though, the forums have about zero impact on any development made in the game. Just look at the 50 page thread on the old forum...how many ideas were really carried out? 2?
