... and some other bad skillgames, that dont even work.
track central is getting worse every single day. so many bad tracks... and people like those bad tracks like crazy. WHY??!? this is just ridiculous! seems like people want to play crap and i really dont get itabout 75000 custom tracks and i bet over 95% is garbage! i have seen tracks without any obstacles or something, but over 700 likes! WTF?!
as a builder you have to ask yourself: "why should i work for weeks or months on a track, if the players will prefer any bad track that someone made in 2 minutes?"
that might be the reason why many good builders stopped and i can feel with them.
on ps4 some idiot called prettyboyswag is uploading his troll tracks over and over again to move all other tracks out of the extreme feed.
track central is a mess
PC has less tracks (about 15000 now) and less junk tracks but still there's a lot of mess in the weekly feeds:
xp tracks
down the stairs
trials tracks that are pretty much just skillgame
mini ninjas (that are like 5-10 sec 1 obstacle) often with no decor and floating somewhere & individual checkpoints, often times those "ninja" tracks are set at Hard for some reason as wel....
almost flat tracks, or just a pile of junk cars/blocks dumped on the bridge
some rock/desert tracks (especially desert) with very bumpy drivelines, cliff pieces don't have 1:1 visual/collisions
I have also seen sometimes up to like 7 of those not so good tracks from the same builder in the feeds in 1 week, or even more per day, yet they get high ratings despite being hard-ninjas with floating ramps randomly put in a desert etc.
I can make 10 tracks a day if I just dumped some random objects on the driveline with no other effort, and you bet they'd get high rated too (disgusting idea I'd never do anyhow), but those aren't "tracks" but the majority of people most likely don't follow streams/tutorials/forums, and don't know at least the minimal basics that makes a track an okay one.
The worst part about those not good but high rated tracks is this main issue:
Each search list only has 15x7 tracks for each difficulty so that's only 105 tracks can be searched for unless you search on specific names/creators, theres no way to exclude creators or search in a timeframe.
So that's 105 x 5 difficulty = 525 maximum searchable Trials tracks for example unless you start using criteria, thankfully track names aren't case sensitive or have to be 1:1 exact, like searching for TT would get me all the PC track jam 2 tracks. Creator names need to be exact tho.
With over 10000 tracks, and far more on other platforms, some tracks just end up in the void after some point unless they end up with exceptionally high ratings they stay listed longer.
hmm i dont think you have to follow streams/tutorials/forums etc. as a new builder. shoguns tutorials are very helpful, but its also possible to build something without that knowledge.
if people would use their brain, they should notice whats fun and whats not... but thats not the case. it seems like many players never played the career, deactivated their brains and just give a like on everything / or build brainless crap. no one can tell me that they enjoyed their own tracks. i dont believe that!
to put it philosophical, "its about the journey, not the destination" I simply love to build...Originally Posted by Core2TOM Go to original post
But yeah i totaly agree, there is a strange ammount of bad tracks out there. (that people for some reason seem to enjoy)
i dont remember it being so bad as now, it must be due to great builders are scattered across plattforms,Originally Posted by Blackbird56695 Go to original post
the 48 hour feed on EVO always provided many great tracks, (but still you got the high rated "dont move", "imposible stairs", "can you do this" etc tho... )
So maby the masses really like "crap"... its fast, "fun" and often dont require any special skill... i dont know, true art seem to be for the few.
Sorry to correct you. You have one too many zeros in there (the middle one to be preciseOriginally Posted by TeriXeri Go to original post)
Track Central is currently at 1802 in the PC version.![]()
I would say TC is far better than it was at launch...I was pissed for about 2 to 2 1/2 months about the mess of Fusion's TC, but it has evened out a lot since then.
People will always like thrown-together, bad drive line ridden tracks for whatever reason. A good example of a terrible track IMO is Impossible Stairs. BUT when it first came out on EVO (I assume it was EVO) it was a big hit. It then got done over and over and redone over and over. For the players that have never played EVO, Impossible Stairs was brand new to them, so it was a big hit again. I believe it will take several more weeks to months for the new guys to get really used to that dislike button for poor tracks.
I do wish we would go back to a 5 star rating, but I don't see that happening. Either way, Fusion has come a long way in 4 months IMO. I spend most of my time on EVO's editor anyhow...still waiting for more DLC for Fusion to come out before I start messing around again there.
Yeah I messed that one up without checking facts as I was somewhere else at the time of writing, so my bad. 1822 right now.Originally Posted by IFTHISTHENTHAT Go to original post
Anyhow, my points still stand about there being spam but it seems to come in waves, the weekly feed only shows the last 7 days, right now theres actually tracks with 0 on the bottom of the feed, because so few tracks have come out.
