I think the top players get a lot of recognition with there name being on the top of the leaderboards to anybody who has this game for that platform. Its pretty much the point of leaderboardsOriginally Posted by Jeruhnq Go to original postpeople will try to improve because of leaderboards. The small detail you are on about IS leaderboards :P.
Recognition with the global leaderboard, not with leaderboardsOriginally Posted by DJ_2wItchY:
So if you are in the top 100, you obtain an awards as "TP" (Not true fan, 'true' player maybe ?Originally Posted by Tomdebomb_lol) or maybe you username could change to the color yellow, or other.
And then, anywhere you username is, people can see if you are one of the top speedrunners.
- On the leaderboards of custom tracks
- On the leaderboards of tournaments
- In team (?)
- In multiplayer (?)
Also, It could improve the competition between players to get this awards
That's why i think top 100 is great for this.
It could be also :
- Top 3 in global leaderboard = obtain their username in rainbow (#cod4infectedlobbystyle)
- Top 10 in global leaderboard = obtain their username in gold
- Top 100 in global leaderboard = obtain their username in silver
- Top 1000 in global leaderboard = obtain their username in bronze
Just think it could be a great awards for players who play for their position in the global leaderboard and the game could be more competitive![]()
Top 100 on PC is pretty easy, though. I'm pretty crap at this game and in top 50 on PC lol.Originally Posted by Jeruhnq Go to original post
Anyone here have the total number of people on console leaderboards? I think PC is around 70k. I remember a time when there was like 1m people on 360 in Trials HD
I agree, if they are going to do it, they should do it properly, not give out too many TF or wrench awards so people won't be 'sad' that they don't have oneOriginally Posted by D2Dahaka Go to original post
Hey guys,
Just a quick word about that.
This idea is not at all out of question, though we have other focus at the moment:
- Making an awesome multiplayer
- Finalizing the "Team" feature
- Improving Track Central
- Improving tournaments
- Some other small surprises
+ the 4 remaining DLCs
We're quite busy right now but at some point, we may be able to look at this kind of improvements.
Cheers,
TFs and Wrenches make no odds to me really, but I have an alternative to both that are viable I reckon
Instead of Wrenches, Cut the Featured section on TC in half and have a Featured Builder there,
Changeable periodically it is a good way to show a builder they are an asset to TC and......yea, fairly straight forward I think,
Instead of TFs, If its a way for RL to say, Thanks guys,to go that extra bit to showcase the game,...
...Gather up the GTs,IDs whatever that are noteable and stick em in a RL created track
Loads of ways to implement this into tracks such as,
Build track named. Community Spirit? Set in a little town with the town square shops names given to 'TFs'
eg; Inflictor Sports, DJ Twitchy Records etc...
Would be awesome and there would always be chance of a new track...?
Also I would like to see (but too late now I suppose) maybe next game
"A rating option for Ingame tracks"
Surely its benificial to RL to know the good from the bad,
And it would go someway towards answering the big question of, What makes a good track?
Just thinkin' out loud![]()
