What would you exactly do with that info? Put beer in the freezer in advance? It's coming, the programmers and designers are working hard to get you even better, working multiplayer. The old one wasn't exactly flawless and there are now even 3 more platforms to work with.

this is not "our" problem .... it's yours ... we want results quickly now, we have been patient enough
you have other questions about what we want?

You're right the boom of player is gone, but the number of active daily users is still comfortable for multiplayer.
We know that longer it is, higher is the expectation. We also want to bring some visibility for people to be able to get the right expectations (not in terms of quality of the feature but on the structure of the feature). I hope that will come quickly now.

And as you said, Tournaments, without being bad, has some flaws that force us to rework it now. We want to use what we learnt from that and apply it for multiplayer (not in terms of gameplay or design, but how we managed the feature).

I discuss daily and extensively with everyone (top management, engineers, designers, producers, community management, public relations, etc...) to do the maximum to ship the best possible feature and also to give some visibility to the community. I also spend some time here to have the shortest link possible between the core community and the dev team, I believe it's important.

So, yes, we ask for a lot of patience (too much) but that's for the right reason: quality of the player experience.
I don't want to nitpick, but you didn't address whether or not multiplayer was in development at all before launch... That kinda worries me.

I for one would love to see the active daily user numbers (likely not possible, I know). The only indicator I know of currently in game that shows anyone playing is tied to tournaments. On PC this is usually sitting at 0 or 1, and never breaks 10 anymore. This does not seem promising. Even if the numbers are robust percentage-wise, we are still talking about relatively few people (speaking for PC). Of these people a certain subset need to want to play multi, and not all will. Those who do want to play multi have to be active at the same time, and able to connect to each other (looking at you Evo Gold). To me it seems like there are a number of relatively substantial hurdles barring multiplayer's success, and the longer the delay, the bigger the hurdles.

Thank you for your response Eno, I very much appreciate the communication, as do many others I'm sure.

I would like to know who's being held accountable for screwing 100,000+ people out of Online Multiplayer upon release. Have people lost their jobs there, or do you just pat um' on the back like "Well, you're 6-months behind but keep plugging away while we continue to lose business and customers"?

How about giving us an HONEST estimate if you can't give specifics. Is Online MP 65% done, 80%, 90%? Could we be expecting it as soon as next month or 3-months down the road from now? I'd like to know this information for peace of mind. If We had this info we wouldn't necessarily be able to do anything with it other than to use it to put our minds at ease. Stop shrouding MP in mystery. Stop giving us 5-paragraph explanations for a question we asked that dances around that question and doesn't even remotely begin to answer it. Is that too much to ask? We'd like answers from Dev's or someone familiar with the progress of MP, not from a Community Manager whose job is to promote PR, manage a forum, and spin our questions around to buy RL/Ubi more time as we get jerked around.

    Hello guys,

Once again the tons of your post (Attila, Classy, Purpleoozi) is not constructive. That's because of this exact problem there is less and less devs coming here. That also makes other people running away (and they all go on reddit where the attitude is much better).

On my side, it also starts to be harder. I think I gave all the possible visibility today. If you don't care (and that's your right), and that by this kind of posts you show you don't care, I just shouldn't bother anymore. Up to you to know what you want.

No, we won't do anything quickly, we'll take the time to do it right.
We did something quickly: Tournaments. "Hey that's bad, stop rushing things."
We don't rush and take the time needed to do things right "Hey that's too long, we want results quickly."
Anyone who worked on something related to technology, innovation and design, would know it's something totally unplannable.

So, the reason why we don't give date is because we don't even have it ourself. We work on it, we do what's necessary to get things right, when it's there, we'll communicate dates. Until then, we can try to communicate some vision, design, progresses, etc... But that's not easy and I am not sure that's worth the effort when I see this kind of posts.

Now, as usual, you can be critic and open the discussion like Ch4eron did. But please also consider what's right:
    - The DLCs are at the highest quality
    - We're now taking the time to bring high quality features instead of rushing them out (as you all requested)
    - The Track Jam is bringing lot of good stuff
    - The stream of Uplay recommended tracks is steady weekly
    - There is 3 or 4 streams on Twitch weekly
    - We changed how we deal with issues related to scores and leaderboards and investigate scores on demand
    - Track Central is improved continuously
    etc...

The game improved since launch, we improved a lot of community events/activity stuff, and we improved the way we work to be able to bring higher quality.
    Obviously, we'll keep improving.

Now if the only thing you're able to do is: "I want multiplayer now", I can't help even if the request is rightful. None of this post will make it come quicker.

If you ask questions, I will answer. If you just keep doing as you do, I'll ignore.
    Up to you.

    Regards,

    Hi Ch4eron,

Multiplayer has been in development before launch but we changed direction because we wanted to reach higher quality. We also paused it at some point after launch to fix all the urgent issues. It's back full steam for a while now.

The tournament players is not a good measure of daily active users because the feature, in its current state, doesn't encourage player to keep playing it. (the daily active users is much higher than the daily number of players taking part to tournaments). I can't communicate the exact number because it's some business data, so that's under non-disclosure agreement.

Also, there is a huge difference between number of PC players and number of console players, so looking at Tournaments on PC is not meaningful at all.

I said I'd be fine with a percentage of where you think the MP is at as far as completion is concerned.. But as usual it's paragraph after paragraph of excuses and explanations, shifting focus away from the main question.

NOBODY at RedLynx has ANY IDEA when multiplayer may be released yet REDLYNX is LEADING THE PROJECT.

That makes sense.. Sounds legit, truthful, and I totally believe you now.

when you have nothing to say "we do not say anything" .... we were to say something that is legitimate: when?
