I know keeping Trials fresh and new is a must, but this does bare many resemblances to Minecraft.
Having each track connected in some way would be cool though. Not literally connected tracks, but similar to Eden and Stratosphere in Empire of the Sky. Eden ended with a cannon that shot the Rider into the space station from Stratosphere. I though that was a cool transition. It could help with the story as well, adding progressing environments to play through leading up to the conclusion, like the Greater Crater; but the environments would need to be vastly different so that it doesn't get repetitive. I personally like the story with SynDi and George, and just turned them off if they got annoying. I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't make it into these first two DLCs
On a side note did someone say Trials and Minecraft at the same time?...
I made this in Trials this week!
I you guys have ever played Motorcross madness on the 360 you know that this concept could potentially be done with a 3rd person free-roam mode of the entire area and then, once the player approaches an official track that contain leaderboards, will you go into the more traditional trials experience we all know and love![]()
Just posting some complete new additions here, which also means if a new game/expansion comes current gameplay modes will be untouched and not replaced by it.
I'd love to see a 3rd person free roam playstyle as an extra gameplay option,, it could give way to a lot of new styles of play:
- 3D BMX park/FMX style trick mode: Score points in set time but not on a set-2d course, as well as new grind/balance tricks. Also variants like collect X items or complete Y trick over Z gap within xx seconds.
- Supercross stadiums : Lap based Motorcross that's not bound to a set path on the driveline but actually makes a curved track somewhat more spectacular
- Obstacle course: A variant to 2d Trials mode, on a 3d, course with multiple routes due to the expanded variety in obstacles, side to side, up/down, diagonal driving paths. Multiple riders or turn-based multiplayer systems.
Also adding easier to manage character controls for the rider itself could open up more skillgames.
PS. I know most can be done in editor right now as far as single-player roaming/skillgame goes, but it always requires a lot of code and deep knowledge of editor functions/math etc.
I think adding a sort of overworld element to trials. Since the developers are trying to create a story inside of trials, it would be nice to see the world as a whole being affected by everything that is happening. For example, since RoR was released and it takes place outside of the main society's walls, it would have been neat to see the world change drastically the moment you drive through the wall's doors or however they decide to get you outside.
I also think the third person elements would add more variety to the game, like it was already stated, motocross tracks to race on, or more traditional Fmx challenges. They could also add locational overworld challenges, like jumping from location to location, or find collectibles like most third person games. Adding something like that could also potentially make this a full retail title rather than am arcade game on a disk.
It may not be though. Since as developers they are constantly looking for a way to expand the universe they've made, implementing something like this would bring in a variety of players if done right, and could end up helping them a lot. Plus it would being in more competition with many more types of gameplay.Originally Posted by stllbreathnbdy Go to original post
I'll try to address all points brought up in time. I'm thinking of a single map like in Super Mario World, but more cool (maybe set in a whacky medieval world -- coz I know RL likes to make whacky tracks), and it links all the levels. So in short we would have a career mode on top of everything. Your goal is: get to the end. Survive. And do it in few faults if you want the platinum. And all sorts of cool stuff can happen along the way if it is an adventure and not just a flat menu of tracks. Choose the route that suits you (medium, hard or extreme). If anyone has played Lylat Wars (Starfox 64) they will know exactly what I am saying.
My favorite track is Gigatrack. It made a huge impact on me (and the reviewers at IGN lol). I'm not saying all levels should be crazy long, but if you look at how many tracks TrialsCommunity pumps out for the xbox one, it is beyond obvious that RL has the muscle to create a more world-like environment.
Also, an adventure mode gives the ILLUSION that the game will be epic. It can be exceedingly simple and small to implement. I like the comment: "I am asking for the moon." It appears this way. It can wow the casual player and hardcore alike. But I think it is a fairly simple and practical idea, and it opens a lot of options for creativity in design, storytelling, and what happens to the player as they progress, etc. It also allows RL to unify all tracks -- an important point coz the player in all current games warps from track to track essentially clueless as to why they are there or how they got there.
I appreciate the comments guys.
But it's just food for thought.
I say a lot of things.
You Realize that's not 1 person/group right? It's taking tracks from other platforms' creators and distributes them across all 4 , so non-x1 players see some x1 tracks with the FusionCommunity accountname (Uplay Recommended Feed).Originally Posted by Oryolus_Phoenix Go to original post
Or are we speaking of something different here? TrialsCommunity/FusionCommunity![]()
Yah. I just look at the quality, not where it comes from.
As for dynamic elements. I don't know. Dynamic rocks, Dynamic destruction, Random world events. Random moving platforms. Floods. Crazy big monsters. I don't know haha. But probably we might need two leaderboards. Dynamic elements on or off kekeke
It'd be cool if the bike handles different in winter versus summer etc. More playthroughs. More fun.
I'd expect the medium route could involve the panda a lot. The panda could get us across the world kind of fast, wouldn't you say, my good buddy!!!
Cheers,
