I like to go full throttle all the way up and try to frontflip, either landing my back tire all the way up, or fender grabbing depending on how much forward momentum I'm able to maintain. However, my way is really damn inconsistent and it's easy to fault here if you don't get it in the first try due to the explosive barrel on the way back down.

I feel like this obstacle is really holding me back from getting a platinum time. Every time I've managed to zero fault the track, I've had to attempt this stupid obstacle like 5 times and it really kills my times...

    Thoughts?
Probably one of my most consistent obstacles on the track and Im not a great trials player. I would suggest not going for the front flip, i think thats why you are struggling. Rather, when you are climbing the wall dont use full throttle and slowly ease off it as you climb the wall, just enough to get your front tire up and over the platform so you can do an endo. Then fap your way up if necessary (probably already know about fapping, but just in case... hold the throttle and mash the X button on xbox, or whatever the face button is for brake on PS4, dont use the left trigger)

I would suggest practicing without using the front flip. If I hit the wall wrong and it doesnt feel right i can always lean back gun it and do a backflip off the wall for another attempt. I do the same thing as you seated from the checkpoint, lean back as I hit the ramp, then lean forward as I hit the wall. The only difference is I take it easy on the throttle as im climbing (if your back wheel is lifting off, not enough throttle, if your front wheel is lifting off, too much throttle). I probably get over first try 90% of the time, the other 10% i can usually flip off the wall and have another attempt. I rarely if ever fault on that obstacle... and I want to stress again, im not a great trials player

I'm getting oh so close now but OMG, once I hit platinum, I will probably not play it again for quite some time, uggg!
You're gonna have a lot of fun on Way of the Machine....

I reckon the individual obstacles in Inferno 4 are harder than Way of the Machine, but there is zero margin for error - you stuff up anything you crash. Inferno there are lots of spots where you can recover a bad attempt, so you can get away with less awesomeness. Also if feels like there are a crapload more obstacles and opportunities to stuff up.... just like Way of the ninja, but with a hell of a lot more difficulty... Maybe thats just me first attempts talking, but gee it seems hard.

I've hated every Inferno since Trials 2 SE, but gradually came to conquer them bit by bit... still haven't got them platinum but they're all golds which isn't so bad. I don't hate them anymore but see them as a goal to get past (with a red face usually).

I hated the barrels for a while but that's not so bad anymore either thanks to Fat Shady and his vids.
