Lack of moderation. The forums have moderators for gauging opinions, but zero moderation on track central.
25% of the weekly feed is represented by Ninja training.
50% are not what you would consider a track (no decor, floating objects in a parking lot)
This I nothing that hasn't been said, but it's such an obvious issue. When a track by Murderbysound is buried by Training obstacle #6 or Cp3 cp4 big jumps...there is a real problem. This does 2 negative things....it keeps people from building real tracks (would you want to spend hours creating something decent to have it spammed of a feed?), it clogs up the feed keeping real tracks off the grid.
The weekly feed should be for trials tracks...sounds funny, but 80% of the feed is goofy nonsense. Would anyone disagree?
There should be a one track upload per 72 hour period. If you want to upload your training obstacle, that's ok...but that's it for 3 days.
Maybe track central would have a better following, if it weren't allowed to be filled with utter nonsense.
To note, the FEATURED huge box hasn't been addressed in 4 months....zero Redlynx picks have been made per platform, most don't even check the uplay feed...despite it being a great addition....and most of the picks aren't on par with Evo's picks...by far. Morfyboy has at least a dozen recent uploads that are far better tracks. I couldn't believe the quality that wasn't being ported cross platform...though they are recent, so there's hope.
I know none of this will be addressed, but felt like writing to anyone reading. The reason why not many get into track central is because it's not incorporated into the game or a multiplayer that doesn't exist. Top tracks receives 1500 downloads in a week or a bit more, among a game that has sold 430k units...do the math. I'm aware this is why it's not even a conversation at Ubisoft. On a business side, it doesn't make sense to allot time to this, but dlc creation.
All being said, Fusion is a tremendous value for $40 with dlc...hahah...very true.
It really sux when 50+ hours of work gets demolished by 15 min of work.
It also sux that the creators name gets switched around Tc.
Yesterday i recieved hate messages on a track i did not create. Wtf!
Doesnt that piss people off? I havent heard anyone discussing that issue. Wierd...
I think adding a Ninja feed would help tremendously.
But first of all fix that stupid creators name switched around bug. Please!
2 sections...
Real trials tracks
Other crap
Simple. I'm no genius, but this makes plenty of sense.
I prefer hate mail to be directed solely at me for a bad driveline...I would reply to the hate mail and defend a random track you didn't make Exit...haha
If some of the challenges...short be it were at least creative and had some decor...I could deal with if. I used to make challenges on Evo, but at least use some lighting and more than a 2 cent obstacle. It makes you wonder who is even rating all of track central. Probably the same person who rate a ninja training track highly, may dislike a solid track because it's too long? It's a scary world we live in....haha
^^Ofcourse...Any feedback on your own track should always be welcomed.Originally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post
I dont blame their anger since it was a Ninja 1 obstacle in the easy feeds...lol
I asked them to type my tag in the search to prove my innocence.
Now there on my FL hahaha!
Thankfully i was in a good mood...haha haa!![]()
It's seems with ninja tracks, these people love them because they're 10 seconds long. And let's not forget, with no checkpoints, only those who really love it will be determined to finish, boosting the score. If the track is of human difficulty, well, then short just doesn't cut it. These people need a track long enough for them to drift a sleep to, at least 10 minutes long...yeah. Good luck crafting an excellent 10 minute line, and include quality visual detail over a track that long. And coding for interesting stuff as well? Forget it. My last track was 50 seconds long, if you're me, and I was a ****hair away from full complexity. Scenery and challenges, along with necessary terrain mods eat up complexity.Originally Posted by VEGASTRASH Go to original post
The other thing I can't wrap my head around is why there is no shortage of people who flock to these hard as balls ninja tracks, and finish them, but when it comes to nailing a driveline on an easier track for a platinum medal, almost NO ONE does it. 3 people out of 4000 platinumed my medium track...c'mon, whaaaaaa?
There's something to be said for nailing a medium or easy line, as many times it's harder to platinum because you're dealing with fractions of a second. On ps4', the majority of players seem to play a track once and move on. It's not like Evo where some good tracks are run over and over. The speed running type does to seem to be on this platform.
For myself, I tend to get bored with lines that aren't too complex....my own included. Ninja tracks can be fun, but I agree with your point.
The player level on the ps4 is ultra weak. I'm ranked 40th without trying to improve even.
Completely agree with you Vegas, I find it a bit disturbing for all the decent track creators who put more than 50 hrs cause of coding too and detailing that is incredible. Thing is majority of the time it's kids who think they're pro with the tracks they make but it doesn't really cater to everyone, just their mates to show off it seems. We here are the most adept at wanting more and thrive on getting noticed because we put more effort into doing so. I feel your pain and you must be disheartened by it and can't blame ya for it. But doing this 72 hr feed won't stop anything cause people can just multi account and do stuff that way.
PS: Impossible stairs coming soon... just kidding.
Multi accounts exist, but it would greatly limit the cp1, cp2, cp14 tracks. Personally, I don't see the point.Originally Posted by NovaDarkStorm Go to original post
On the flip side, nobody cares if 100 hours were spent hypothetically. It's the end result that matters. If someone creates a well thought out driveline and decor in 6 hours...that's ok too. It's the brainless tracks that someone reach the top of the feed that blow me away. Not that the track is made...and we all start somewhere...plus not everyone wants to spend forever on a track...it's that it's voted up. TC moderation is greatly needed. Why not let forum moderators have access to moderate track central? Or someone who knows what a real track is. Have a "verified creator" section even. Unlike a wrench, this could be anyone who puts some effort into filling out a track.
Every time I type on here I ask myself...why am I'm making suggestions to thin air? I know Ubilynx could careless what a few think. If Redlynx took any suggestions seriously...many more previous suggestions would be in Fusion. I know a forum is just a place to rant to other players....haha. Joke is on me, I know.
The fact is, we represent a fraction of a percent of the people who purchase the game. Whether or not the hardcore fans purchase the next one or not is irrelevant because there are so few. I'm guessing not even 100 people post here...out of 1.5 million? Haha. It's consoling to know you're not alone though in your thoughts.
Impossible stairs....best track ever. I know certain YouTube channels would feature tracks like this and all I could think of is....there a lot of buffoons out there. Much like a flock lining up for KISS tickets.
There is some very nice tracks in TC, and I cant thank creators enough. Im an average player so mostly enjoy easy/medium/hard tracks. It looks like ninjas often come up in the feeds because lots of players rate it up just cause they made it through the track. I seen ninjas With 25 positive and no negative, but track is terrible! Dont just rate the track up if you make it through. Pls rate the track depending on track and not if you can make it through.
