If we can go to everything shown on the first and last picture then the map is really huge!

These are really great shots. The 1st demonstrates the majestic feel of the Himalayas, the 2nd the diversity of it's biomes, and yes, they both as well show the scope of the area.

That said, it has been mentioned by one dev that the sprawl of the actual playable area is about the same as Far Cry 3, but you gain more in the detail of the various elevations.

I was thinking it would be awesome if mt climbing for sport were optional side missions. There could be X number of peaks you could try to ascend, and you'd have to manage your gear and guide team. You'd prove it via photos from the summit and you'd get gear and/or monetary rewards, as well as more respect from the locals.

It would also help acclimate you to the region and get you in shape for battle, eg more stamina, less chance of dizziness and altitude sickness. Maybe this instead of bringing back illness and pills as some suggested would be preferable, esp if a certain amount of peaks bagged removed the symptoms entirely, vs repeat pill usage.

I know this won't likely be included, and being a fictitious nation they are not likely going to even use any actual mountain names. Just saying it would be cool. On the one hand, in real life these mountains are protected and sacred to the locals, on the other they are very commercialized and exploited for sport. It's a bit of a dichotomy really.

You probably all know this, but Everest is really one of the easiest mountains in the Himalayas to climb. Annapurna and K2 claim far more lives and are almost as tall. Kangchenjunga is also not only one of the hardest to climb, but one who's climbers have benefited least from modern climbing techniques and gear, still claiming lots of lives.

It's actually illegal to climb some of the mountains in Nepal. "Machupuchhare" or the Fish Tail is a mountain in the Annapurna range, viewable from the city of Pokhara. (The Devs went there in one of their "behind the scenes" videos.) I went there in March... it's mind-blowingly beautiful!

Yeah, I hope that the developers take this into account! Yes, Everest (or "Sagarmatha") is the highest point in the World, but because the surrounding terrain is also at an incredible altitude, the actual "climbable bit" is not ACTUALLY that high!
