So I'm relatively new to the trials franchise, I caught the back end of trials HD and was never very good at evolution. But trials fusion has really been the game to truly pull me into the franchise (because I've gotten a little better).
Anyways, I've spent about 2.5 days of game time and have gotten really MEDIOCRE at this game. I have Atleast a gold on every level and plenty of platinums. I currently only have platinumed 2 extreme tracks (eye of the storm, rock of rages). I really want to be able to platinum every extreme track but I'm about 2 faults away on light city run, 10 faults away on frostbite, and about 15 faults away on inferno. (Those are my average attempts). I've recently got to a point where I haven't really improved my times or faults at all!
I see most of y'all with 120/120 challenges and >50 second inferno times. Is there a real possibility I could ever get that good? I'm betting most of you didn't just pick up the controller the first time you played trials and cranked out platinums. (Well maybe some of you) Do I just need to keep playing and playing and playing. Or is there a way to slowly get better at this game and master the techniques. I've noticed that my bunny hop is slightly worse than the best players, along with fapping, and some of the way you guys go up the steep ledges.
Should I watch countless replays and try to match the same exact techniques, or just except the fact I'll never bask in ultimate trials speedrun glory
Thanks - LaQuan Williams
[edit] - I guess I should say 138/138 challenges haha
I was pretty much exactly where you are about a month ago, except I didnt even think I was going to be able to get the platinum in rock of rages. Frankly I dont like just practicing a track for hours at a time.
What I liked to do was just play hard/extreme custom tracks and instead of competing for medals or times, just kinda tooled around on the bike practicing flips and wheelies and getting familiar with the handling and physics. Then I would get curious and load up one of the extremes and realized I had gotten better. I just slowly knocked out the platinums that way.
Im nowhere near the levels of alot of the guys on here, but the more you play the better you will get, even if you dont realize its happening. With where you are at you probably have a decent understanding of all the important techniques, so really just keep playing and having fun, so you will want to keep playing.
yeah. the onyl way to get better at trials is to keep playing. watching trials streams could help aswell since you can ask how to do certain obstacles or checkpointsOriginally Posted by LadderStyle Go to original post. just don't give up

When I first started playing I was far worse than you are with the same game time. The only way to improve is to keep playing. If you don't want to spend hours on a track you could do what I did which was build the obstacle in the editor or chain that you are inconsistent on and practice it there. This is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to improve on an obstacle. It's easy to build a slope, and the make it steeper and steeper, or make a rear tire bounce require a higher and higher jump.
I reckon we must be about the same point in fusion.... I think the point to get from here to the next step is much harder than getting from the previous stage. It took me ages to platinum the extremes on evo, and fusion is another step up again - there are some really hideous obstacles (and it doesn't really help when people come on here saying how simple fusion is and they completed it on their lunchbreak.....). I am sure we will get better, but it will take work, which can be really annoying (but also highly satisfying)
Good luck
Just play and play and play. You'll get better over time without thinking about it.
If you're stressed to death about any certain track, take a break from it, or single player as a whole. There are plenty of tracks on track central that you could play without the stress of competition. Speedrun-oriented tracks and extreme/ninja tracks. I would bring up multiplayer too, but......
Anyways, this is what I learned while starting with EVO
ThanksOriginally Posted by LadderStyle Go to original postI'll just keep practicing and maybe just work on the obstacles I have trouble with over and over. It's nice to have some of the top players in the community helping and giving tips!
2 extremes plat? thats progress go for a 3rd!Originally Posted by LaQuanW Go to original post
Just set goals, and you'll reach them.
Thanks for the idea, I'm going to try it out! I'll see if I can find a way to create the 2nd to last checkpoint of devils beak and start it out easy then work on up to what it's like on the track!Originally Posted by Carmine9437 Go to original post![]()
