Agreed. Terrible matchmaking KILLED Far Cry 3's Map Editor DEAD.

If we get a system similar to FC3 then the multiplayer is dead - end of that will happen.
Sure guns for hire will be fun but that is only coop, and if there is a level / mission creator made properly then some would like that but seriously no Custom Lobby with match / hosting options = a lot of egg on face because people made enough noise from the last game so that just says it all really.

One other thing is the Vehicles in User Made maps and if we get them in competitive multiplayer.

If someone simply comes out and says yes you get them then all the anxiety goes and the word will spread through the community who will wake up and the vibe will be a lot happier.
It is not really spoiling anything by telling people so GameCom would be a good time to release the info.

How awesome would it be if we could setup dedicated servers with our favorite maps? I'd buy the game twice haha.

    Map Editor Issues

I totally agree. Far Cry 3 inexplicably dropped the ball when the lobby system removed the ability to HOST A LOBBY. This pretty much killed the map community.

    Issues:

    1. The Far Cry 2 Lobby system was perfect. You could spend time creating a few cool maps, then host a lobby and actually PLAY YOUR OWN MAP. This is fun. This is a hobby. This is what map makers want to do. In Far Cry 3 why bother spending hours making awesome maps if you will literally never get to play in them? If I can't host a lobby, then realistically what happens is I'll join the server... some 5-minute map comes up and everybody quits. It's really NOT a good system. What was the logic there??? Was the logic that all maps would get an equal chance for play? Well, nice try in THEORY, but in REALITY, it doesn't work well.

    2. What happened to the multiplayer lag? The hit detection issues rendered the multiplayer SO LAGGY as to be almost unplayable about 90% of the time. Whoever was hosting would somehow have a horrendous lag advantage and would literally have 40 kills and 2 deaths. Anyone on the opposing team could literally NOT KILL THAT ONE HOST PLAYER. I'm not a computer programmer, but something was broken there whereas it worked just fine in Far Cry 2.

    3. Just bring back vehicles and turrets and boats. You don't have to use them if you want to make a Call of Duty style small map. If you want to make a large Halo style map, then the option is there to use the vehicles. More options = more creativity. I have played excellent maps of both styles.

    4. Bring back buildings. There was one tiny house in the editor which was almost useless. Also a good idea would be to have large empty skyscraper buildings to use as background or border if you want a city map. And personally I would love a BUILDING BLOCK system so you have building parts which snap together to make whatever shaped building you want. Also lego building blocks would be handy, ones that properly stack without the invisible bottoms which give you headaches trying to fix. Bring back snapping too. Halo Forge got that right.... but Forge also is a waste of time because again, you cannot host or do land terrain modification, so nobody uses Forge.

    5. I would recommend just bringing back Far Cry 2 game modes. Everybody likes Team Deathmatch. You can't go wrong there. Bring back capture the Flag. It's a fan favourite. Bring back Free for all. Bring back Uprising.... except get rid of the need for a captain to capture a point. Literally what happened 90% of the time was that the captain was a noob and didn't know what they were doing and everyone would quit... hence, the Uprising servers were literally always empty. Just make it like regular Call of Duty Domination with 3 points or like Battlefield with 4 or more if you really want. It's not a COD clone... COD doesn't have an EDITOR. THE EDITOR IS WHAT MAKES FARCRY DIFFERENT. Also you could add Firestorm if you want ... but that mode was just confusing.

See Ubi...this is the frustration the whole community feels. We are not attention deficit button-mashers. We won't buy your game if you show us ZERO respect again!

Custom lobbies, vehicles and unlimited time in matches and surely ammo pickups. <- FC4 needs this

    Sorry, not pinning this thread.

But the developers have heard your concerns regarding the map making system and multiplayer in general. Thank you.

Server browser/Lobby system is very important or should I say it's a must.

    Fixed it for you

If FC4 won't have dedicated servers and a server browser, I will wait for sales and get it around the 10 euros... Just because the single player will be probably good.
