    Ultimate Comparative Trials Evo/Fusion

    Hi everyone!

I made a complete comparative between Trials Evolution and Fusion to see the differences: evolutions or regressions between these two games. If you don't understand some things (because it's not clear or badly translated) feel free to ask. If you find any mistake or things that can be added to the comparative, please let me know. I used the euro for the prices but you can use any other currency, price ratios are identical.

Feel free to respond and give your opinion about Evolution and Fusion.

Evolution at this point has seven more squirrels. It is a no brainier. Evolution FTW!

Thanks for the head to head... There are a few items that obviously stand out as issues (hello online MP) but other than that there are differences which some people will be very upset by and other wouldn't care at all. On the list of little things from Evo I would like to see, I really liked having country flags next to names. This may be a console issue with the new gen, but I really liked that.

I think you need to add something about the cross platform uplay tracks - that is a really good thing now we are split across multiple platforms.

The pricing issue I think has to be moved past. We all know that we got Evo for a steal, so we have a feeling that since Fusion is more expensive that we must be getting a bad deal. In Australia you can pick up the hard copy of the game with a season pass for under $40 (around 25 euro I think), and this also leads into what I think is another "issue", being that a much higher percentage of players will have the DLC this time. To me this means that even though Fusion was released too early (I think we all know that and the obvious reasons why) it is a work in progress that needs the DLC to be the final product its meant to be - DLC on evo and HD always felt very separate, where now I see the DLC as much more integral. By the time we are done with DLC, the editor is going to have so much more than evo ever did, and if people embrace PS4 and XBone and move on from the 360, I think fusion is going to be universally better than evo - and I spent a lot of my life on evo (surely I should not suck as much as I do....)

Finally, I think that the community is being heard on lots of things in fusion - change can be slow, and people get frustrated, but there have been some really good changes. If we can be a positive group and support the changes and updates we want, fusion will be the game that most of us want.

    Nice Guunners!
Pretty sure i payed 800 msp aka 10 bucks for both Evo dlc's though.
And you made 1 or 2 more minor mistakes as well but other than that its pretty accurate.

What i take away from this is that Fusion has more gameplay content in the short run while Evo has
more replayability because of the larger number of real trials tracks in the long run.
Evo had way more customisation options for bike & rider as well.
Fusions editor is bigger, Evo's TC was better. And Evo had mp obviously. (wich fusion will someday have as well)

For me personally, the pricing of Fusion was never an issue at all and i personally find it kind of ridiculous that some people
choose the pricing as their major complaint since Trials is the ONE game on Xbox that gives an amazing amount of fun
for a low price in comparison to ALL other Xbl Arcade Games. This is true even for Fusion.

If i could control what people complained about i would like them to fixate on the actual gameplay problems of Fusion.
The tire glitches, the Viper, the broken leaderboards and the lack of competitive nature due to the
absense of single player tournaments and the lack of real Trials tracks.

Fusion is a fun game but i want Trials to go back to its "roots" so to speak.
Do away with challenges, focus on real tracks, fix the tire glitches and bring back the Phoenix.
Thats what i want for the next Trials game, i would pay double for that.

    Here's another comparison-

Evo is like the 90's generation of rock music, edgy and full on angst. pure, and awesome.

Fusion is like the modern generation. Not even going there, you fill in the blank.

Full of bias, I'm sure. Don't care.

Just to clarify my earlier post before i get jumped on lol

Us here on the forums played Evo sooooo much, we got about 100x our money's worth for it.
Fusion = less for more and we all dont like that but i feel we owe RedLynx our loyalty because they gave us Trials Evo.

We can choose to vote with our wallets for the next game.
If the next game is Trials Fusion 2.0 i probably wont buy it again.
If its Trials R-Evolution i will pre-order it on all 17 platforms.

I remember when Evo came out, everybody was complaining about the tire glitches in that and RedLynx said hey couldn't do anything about it, that if they changed the physics it would mean that all leaderboard times would be invalid and that all previous replays would never work. I would absolutely rather them fix the tire glitches and just wipe the leaderboard when they do it instead of keeping the current leaderboard times and not doing anything about tire glitches, but if Evo is any indication they will never fix the tire glitches. Then again, IMO the Evo tire glitches were mild compared to what we have in Fusion so maybe they will do it this time, I still doubt it though but hopefully I'm wrong.

Recommended Uplay tracks are a sort of RedLynx picks, as we had on Evo. The only difference is that the tracks come from different platforms, we didn't have this problem with Evo.

I only compared the prices of both games and I used the "normal" prices. To buy Evo I bought a 2100 MSP card for like 15€ but that doesn't mean I got Evo for like 8 or 9€. Obviously everyone can get Evolution or Fusion for less than the prices in the OP.

Yes 400 MSP is the price for each DLC (at their release). Sometimes there were some reductions with each DLC for 200 MSP though.

Feel free to let me know these mistakes if you want, so that I can correct them in the comparative.

Yeah I forgot to mention the music. Thanks I add it to the comparative!

It's understandable why RedLynx didn't fix the tire glitches on Evo at first (for the leaderboard integrity). The problem is that experienced builders know how to avoid tire glitches, and we expected at least RedLynx to avoid tire glitches for the DLC tracks. In my opinion, there were even more tire glitches in the DLC tracks than in the Crash County tracks. And now I agree with you, Fusion tire glitches are worse than Evo tire glitches, that's why I feel that the core fan base of riders have been ignored with Fusion. Fixing tire glitches was probably my main expectation for Fusion (with cross-platform track central).

haha, I was more or less making an analogy in terms of the games quality, and vibe. But yeah it's still works like that as well, plus music is where it gets much of its vibe from anyhow.

I much prefer the music on Evo as well, but that's personal taste I guess.
