    Suggestions to improve MP:

    1. Far Cry has extreme potential from multiplayer but have not capitalized on it for several reasons. I'm not going to pretend to know them all but my biggest suggestion is to find more ways to build community in the game. One way to do this is to create more team based incentives and promote mics, factions, etc. They have already started this process in FC3 by allowing "battle cries, revive, firestorm mode" but didn't push it far enough. If they are able to build a stronger community then the game will truly create a following of players that will always come back. Games have become too individualistic and there is need for true teamwork based games if they are well thought out.

    Some more team based concepts:
-- have mic only room option.
-- reduced radar that forces communication rather than just looking at a blip on the radar. Don't let it show exactly where the enemy is because this dumbs down the strategy.
-- provide ways to create wars between factions (have a faction ranking).
-- faction leader can customize attire for his faction and deploy sub leaders among the group.
-- improve the effects of battle cry so that they are more obvious. It will encourage players to travel in packs
-- the revive function will be even more dramatic during non-respawn based modes. ("I really need to save my teammate, but is it worth it").
-- create more modes that require teamwork.

    2. Allow an option for round-based multiplayer. Get away from only having respawn modes. Some gamers thrive on the heightened methodical approach where your life matters.

    3. Improve the map editor to allow for Vehicles, AI, and Weapon Pickups. The mapmaker is so innovative (especially on the console), its a shame they limit it. Let the players create the game they want, that's the point right? Besides, it provides the opportunity to set this game apart from CoD and other basic shooter games.

    4. Servers/technical errors must be avoided early on in the game. No matter how good a MP game is, if you can't get in a game or can't join up easily with friends then the game is dead before it even launches.

*I'd love to hear others' thoughts on these suggestions as well their own ideas.

You are right, Far Cry does for a fact have a lot of potential in multiplayer. Other games wont add the map editor because they wanna sell DLC, so they should really use the opportunity to take the lead. Especially now that a new console generation just released and people want new and fresh games to play. Not another damn BF or COD game =)

I agree that they should bring back vehicles. That's a must. Ammo crates should also return like in Far Cry 2 (in FC3 MP we barely got any ammo on spawn so I have nooo idea why they wouldn't add the ammo crates there). But I also think it's very important to get the technical aspects right. Lag and clunky movement needs to be fixed. When you play FC3, your gun pretty much sways over the whole screen and it's exhausting to use the thumbsticks to actually aim on target. The field of view is also strange. Everything in front of you looks so far away and tiny... Having all these technical errors like lag, weird FOV, awkward movement mechanics etc is something that makes the experience repulsive for new players, so they put it away immediately, and that's not a good thing when we want to grow a community.

Would also be cool with some map editor DLC after launch, because to players like me who wants to play the game for a long time, it's would be refreshing with some new types of items so we can make something new occasionally apart from a million different jungle maps =)

I don't see why they wouldn't have different environmental aspects considering the vastness of the single player shown. Snow should be available and the Shangri-La temples as well. No reason that this editor can't create extremely unique maps. If it doesn't, then Ubisoft will have failed us.

With regards to what you are saying about not becoming a BF or CoD copycat game, those games are isolation type games where you never feel connected to the other players. The most connected you get is having to hear the annoying kid talk through the mic. Find ways to connect the community and you get something more deep...
In terms of gameplay, those games are twitch finger respawn where your life is meaningless. That can be fun, but competitive players looking for something more strategic could use game modes that cater to them. Its an area that Far Cry can exploit to become something different.
