So I've been playing frontier for a little while and so far I dig it, nice time killer on the train and the toilet.
So far i've found some levels and tasks challenging but this is the first thing I sincerely feel is impossible. Its one of the little kids missions, "Doing Your Part" - You have to beat two races with a trick challenge, Cassidy in the watchers while doing 3 backflips - was super tough but I eventually got it. Then Cassidy in "The Lift" with inverted airtime for 6 seconds. And I can't for the life of me even come CLOSE. It doesnt appear that SHE has to accomplish that airtime and so she flys through the track. Now I could still beat her to the finish pretty easily, AND getting the airtime requirement isnt entirely impossible, but doing both simultaneously? Well that feels impossible. Been trying for close to 2 weeks now. Racing with tango upgraded 7, 7, 8, 7.
Do I just need to upgrade the bike more? Its friggen expensive and it doesnt look like any of the next upgrades add THAT much more to any stat.
And advice would be sincerely appreciated!

This was probably one of the tougher tasks they gave; took me about 20-30 minutes.. but it is doable. (All other following tasks were easier; it doesnt get worse than this)It was surprising to find one of their challenges actually had some teeth to it; most seem sooo dumbed down.
- I had a fully upgraded Tango at the time (not sure if its that important compared to what you have)
- I am pretty sure I went over the finish line upside down to get the most possible time, because (for me) it was THAT close. And she wasnt that far behind, either.
- You know that swinging thing? DONT wait for it to get to the end; jump early. Look at leaderboard ghosts for other timesavers too. More time saved means more time you can spend in the air.
- Are you going into inverted using a forward roll? Check to make sure you are getting inverted time for it; some people are reporting it doesnt always count it if you start with a forward roll. (mine was all back-roll).
- Dont panic and do a weak flip just because you can; all that does is slow you and so you arent set up for the next one. Plan the jumps. There are times in the run where its natural to be in the air; take advantage of it.
- I find it very irritating that she doesnt have to do it too.
Is this a new mission on iphone or one that exists on android aswell?Originally Posted by jakelloyd2014 Go to original post
Dont think Android has it yet; it comes in this update (the new tracks are on an island):Originally Posted by wmadoss2014 Go to original post
Trials Frontier iOS v2.2.0:
• Hardcore level pack: Tier 1 Hardcore track pack consists of 6 new hardcore tracks to be played with tier 1 bikes.
• More fan boy missions: 19 new missions available from your biggest fan.
Ok so since we Androidians just got the update, I have to bump this...Did anyone else have ZERO trouble completing this lol? It literally took me 2 tries. I crashed on the last jump trying to squeeze the last bit of air time on my first attempt, 2nd attempt I went right through it. I was quite disappointed after reading all the horror stories about it lol. This isnt a bragging post, Im just genuinely interested to see if I got lucky or not. At least The Island levels were a bit challenging!
I had the same experience, Eyeverson. Got through the new missions all on release day. Guessing a 9/9/9/8 Tango and 10/10/10/10/ Berserker helped with that...
You guys got more skill than me I think! I had the upgraded bike, but I actually had to focus to get this one.![]()
Just completed this with 7/8/7/8 Tango. It was one of the most difficult challenges so far (*). I think that if you want to complete it with a non-maxed Tango, you've got to do one front flip (that little wooden plank that throws you up in the air).
Once you've passed the little swinging wooden platform and you've done the almost straight-up jump, you should be at ~4 secs airtime and little ahead of C.
EDIT: almost forgot the * part. Stilted path. I hate you. I mean, it's actually a very, very fun track but with ANBA, I end up playing it every 6 tracks or so. Surely ANBA could pick from the, erm, 80 or so, tracks available instead of making me play that bloody track every 6 opponents or so. It's gotten to a point where the opponents are pretty hard to beat. There are couple other tracks as well which appear at a disproportionately high frequence in ANBA missions.
Am playing through a second time to fill out the Candy quest guide (and see what the game would have been like if I had not started in beta, before ANBA, etc)... just realized why everyone says its so easy now and wasnt when we first got the quest. The old quest was for 6 seconds inverted airtime (see original quote)... I just ran it and it was only for 4 seconds (MUCH easier).....Then Cassidy in "The Lift" with inverted airtime for 6 secondsI guess they dumbed it down.....
