Cool, glad to semi help.Originally Posted by distrust74 Go to original post
Pretty sure all top riders had someone they looked up to for their skill when they were new to Trials. And the ones who were determined enough eventually competed with those they once looked up to.
I studied Shockwave, High Deff, KO Syndicate, SS Slinky, and Burnzee in HD. I never thought I'd later be competing with them.
Distrust, I would highly recommend watching the university of trials videos from Fatshady (There is a link in the videos section, but it is easy to find on youtube also). I had got to a stage in evo where I had basically given up trying to get better, and only dreamed about 0 fault runs on extremes.... even hards were brutal. A friend told me about the university of trials and it helped me massively - To the point where I eventually got those elusive platinums on the evo extremes. Now I am still far from the level of the gurus around here, and I am still to get my fusion platinums (Inferno 4 is like one big kick in the nuts most days), but at the end of the day it is all about techniques, and then extending those techniques for the harder obstacles.
We choose to do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.......
There used to be a fantastic advanced riding techniques thread on the General Discussion category on Trials Evolution by Euphoric Fusion but I can't find it now. Most of the techniques will be just as relevant to Fusion unless you want to know how to do that stupid FMX stuff. It used to be 'stickied' to the top of the page but appears to have gone now. I've spent the last half hour scanning through all the pages but I can't see it and the search and advanced search features are next to useless on anything that originally came from the old forum. If anyone can find it and can post the link that'd be great. God, I wish we still had the old forum.

Thanks for all the infos and links, I`ll certainly look into all of them.
Actually I wanted to ask if there are good places to learn anyway, so I am glad you guys provided that stuff already.
I don`t think the "3-5 days to be fit for extreme tracks" theory works on me.
Just checked Steam, I have 17 hours on the PC version, and thats my secondary, it`s probably double the time on x1.
I only recently started to manage gold on some hard tracks, if I really try. Still about 10 flaws on the crater. :/
Doesn`t matter to me though, I just enjoy the game at whatever skill-level gives me a challenge at the time.
I am by no means a top rider. I'm happy if I get in the top 1000 on a track. And if I get in the top 500 I consider it a great achievement. My personal best was 36 in the world, and the first and only time I've been the top 100 on a track (apart from custom tracks.) I've got about 4 days in fusion on the 360 and X1 combined, and about 12 days in trials Evo! Only a few hours in trials HD though because I didn't know about it until just before Evo was released.Originally Posted by distrust74 Go to original post
If you've got gold on some of the hard tracks, then you're really not that far off. Now it's just a matter of patience. How long can play a track over and over again before you get 1 less fault than your best score. For what it's worth, greater crater (and Red Lynx Derby) were a PITA for me to 0 fault, and I've 0 faulted all of the extremes on trials Evo. Just stick with it and you'll get there eventually. Good luck.
