Because they're charging the same price they did for the previous game's DLC packs, but delivering a whole lot less. For $5 Evolution's DLC packs would give you 30+ Trials tracks. This one gives you 6.

Anyone who knows how to do simple math knows that's ridiculous.

Agreed, though I made much the same point yesterday and got told to stop being argumentative and reassured continually that it really is the same amount of content by Redlynx staff, just "packaged differently" - there's a point to be made that Evo's dlc was very underpriced and we had a lot of bang for our buck, and I'd agree with that point - but the "you're getting just as much content per dime as before" approach isn't gonna stick with anyone and rightly so.

Yup. Especially when you consider that the vast majority of people have no interest in the track challenges, or the FMX stuff, or even the multiplayer tracks. The VAST majority of people are buying these games for the TRIALS tracks, and Red Lynx knows this.

Heaven forbid that customers actually want a good product after spending their money.

The fact that a company wants to make money means we should set aside our standards and just do whatever the hell they want us to do? That logic will get you far.

Also I'm pretty sure Redlynx was making money long before they started charging more for less.

Jokes aside, although Trials is apparently not as good as it once was, it's still good value for money.

It's not just about making a profit. It's also about how much money they make, and what they do with it. -

"With Ubisoft, a wider audience will get the chance to enjoy our games, we‘llgenerate more value for our brands, and also leverage our experience more broadly in digital distribution channels." - Tero Virtala, chief executive officer of RedLynx, on the acquisition by Ubisoft.

It's about expanding the company and the series through growth, generated by profit. Absolutely nothing wrong with looking to improve. It's good business.
So because a company wants to grow, we should all just accept getting less for the same price? That's some really interesting logic you're applying here.

And don't forget, the base game they shipped us was $5 more expensive, and was missing features the previous game had when it launched. Then the DLC gets announced and it's a far worse deal than the previous game. At what point do you stop defending this stuff?

Yes, and now Trials Fusion is almost at the state it should have been at when it launched! And I'm sure they're adding DLC to the game out of the pure goodness in their hearts; nothing to do with money!

Enough with this idiotic sarcasm debate though:

Yep, it's Redlynx's job to grow, and it's our job to keep them in check. If we do nothing, then we will continue to get screwed worse and worse.

I agree with what you said about speaking with your wallet before, but the people on this forum are complaining not because they feel that they wasted money, but because they want to spend more money. They want Trials Fusion to be amazing so they can throw oodles of cash at Redlynx for more of it. People loved Evolution so much they complained that it was too cheap!

I won't deny that Fusion is still a decent value, but it is a huge step down from Evolution (in most peoples' opinions) when it should have been a massive step up. There were millions of suggestions on how to improve TC and the game in general (Some of which have been floating around since Trials HD) and almost none of them were implemented. Instead we just got things taken away. As a consumer, this is unacceptable: Redlynx's greed is affecting the quality of the product.

Also, you think I care about some PR speech? Basically all he said is "We want to make more money," covered up with a bunch of generic PR phrases.

By "improve" you mean "make more money," not "make better games." This does not benefit us in any way.

And on the topic of respect which has come up recently: Redlynx has already shown that they do not respect us nor the Trials brand. Trials Frontier alone is enough to prove this, even ignoring all of the problems with Fusion. Therefore I will not respect them or anyone who defends their actions.
