How do the leaderboards / ranking work exactly?

It seems that some things do not contribute to your overall leaderboard rank at all. For example, it doesn't seem like skill games seem to have any affect, and I just got rank 34 on one of the atv tracks and it did not affect my overall rank. So, my question is this: Does anyone know exactly what tracks are considered in calculating your overall leaderboard rank and which ones are not?

Update - I just knocked another 300 or so rank positions off of my run on another panda track and no overall change. It looks like the ATV tracks do not contribute to overall rank.

Panda tracks DO most certainly count. Your overall ranking may not have changed, but your score should still have gone up. When you get high up on the leaderboards scores could be further apart. So you just may not have passed anyone.

its because the Global leaderboards do not take into account the place you are in each individual track. It is based upon score from various medals, challenges ect.

Challenges don't count, just time and faults.
