Happy to see the sales figures are doing well. En0-, are you a glutton for punishment? It's Friday, you got the weekend coming up and you post that Reddit link. The hive mind will not be happy, nope, not one bit.

From a developer perspective most people finish the game under 50% completion, only 10-20 percent get to see the ending. Still they made hidden ninja tracks and a lot of stuff in their spare time that probably 0.1% of players will ever get to see.
Server Costs, unless rented, for an old game aren't a giant deal but as seen before some developers switch them of pretty soon to slim down costs and refresh their own server infrastructure.
Unlike those companies Redlynx servers for Trials 2 from 2008 are still up and running as well as webchat even though only a few people use it.
And if you want to "hate on" anyone you should probably start with the lead departement (Anba, Sebbbi, & CoKg) of Redlynx since most of the Devs certainly were under a giant pressure finishing the game and had no word in the release schedule, probably would have prefered releasing the game in a more relaxed manner. Although those probably had contracts running but still I think they had enough influence to reschedule the release if they wanted. They made a tactical gamble that worked out well, so also think of them as good businessman.
I am pretty sure the story went something like this.
Ubisoft: We now finished our acquisition of Redlynx. Trials a new franchise to most consoles which is best introduced at the start of a new generation.
So they offered a giant cash bonus for finishing the game early and no one naturally wanted to lose out on that and so they just put it together as well as they could before release.
Id use webchat if i knew where it was.Originally Posted by Happyflow Go to original post

holy crap, we can't go away for a few hours of this forum without seeing a mess when we're back ;-)
Not the courage to answer tonight, I'll answer later in the week end.
PS: Nobody told me for the giant cash bonus! bastards! ;-) (or maybe your story was pure fiction with no insight at allthough that was cute )
