Battlefield hardline (which is not really battlefield imo) has been delayed until Q1 2015. this can only be a good thing for far cry 4. more money in the pockets of players to buy fc4. it's a shame they dont delay cod advanced warfare, but we all know that will never happen![]()
So less than 3 months before release they call the delay, that might perhaps help for a bit.
Game developers seem to find it normal to stack up pre-orders and then delay the game at the last moment.
After FC3 and the delay on Watchdogs im not so sure that the outcome will be different this time.hope I am wrong though.
And in my opinion, unjustly so- since it's gameplay hasn't changed in any way other than the developers adding more killstreaks, perks, weapons and weapon attachments. I just hope FC4's multiplayer isn't as half-assed as FC3's was, and that the editor (on PC standards) is an editor rather than just terrain and assets...Originally Posted by AW LOST SOLDIER Go to original post
If Ubisoft would just spend time fixing the multiplayer and giving people what they ask for, Far Cry as a series could shine in multiplayer, honestly the way the FC2 mapping and sharing of maps worked was by far the best implementation there is for an multi-platform title... Though Crysis Wars (PC-exclusive) surpassed it on PC, with the only thing to set it behind Crysis Wars being the fact that the editor was so limited (Though the funny thing is, the fc2map files contained an .fat/.dat archive and some of us modders used that thing to add some exclusive content such as textures in there, that set our maps apart from the rest a bit, I could even push scripts there, the only problem with those was that they weren't synchronized over the network... Though Dunia 2 has already fixed that, but I never saw any point in creating serious maps for FC3, other than ripping the map file apart and converting it to the non-usermap format to add a custom map to the co-op once.)
I don't know what would happen, let's not forget Halo will also take a large chunk out on the xbox side. Destiny is bad news as well, looking at the BETA that game is looking very very good.Originally Posted by AW LOST SOLDIER Go to original post
After the failure on the MP side of FC3 it won't be easy to be taken seriously for competitive MP.
Really hope they don't wait untill the last moment showing the mp and editor as they did last time, Halo, Cod and BF have always been about MP, the DLC is where the money is so UBI needs to figure out a way to jump in. I played FC2 up to the release of FC3 but it only took 2 months before that was game over. It's what razorfinnish said there was just no point in creating anything serious on FC3 because you could just not play it.
This is just my game list for the rest of the year but.
September - Destiny
October - Shadow of Mordor, AC Unity
November - Far Cry 4, LBP3
All these games are Q4 (stretching for Destiny), but all for the christmas period. I doubt Hardline would have done much but there are quiet a handful of games coming out to compete. Not everyone will be able to get all day 1. I guess you could throw in Fifa to that list too. Everythings coming at once this year, our poor wallets![]()
