Trials Live Editor Stream Homework: Shogun's One Checkpoint Challenge

    Hello Builders,

This week I decided to mix things up on the editor stream and give you a little homework. What I want to see is what you can do in a short amount of time. It's not just about short building time but also track length. How creative can you be in a limited amount of time? How fun/awesome/hilarious can you make only a few seconds be? Do I want to play those few seconds over and over again? I'm calling it the One Checkpoint Challenge. This isn't just any old homework though because one builder will get a spankin' new Trials Fusion hoodie for the effort.

    A few simple guides:
    • Track can be any mode (Trials, Skill Game, FMX)
    • Track should be quick to complete
      • I'm not going to put a strict time limit but 10-15 seconds should be plenty
    • A challenge is great but the track should be passable by more than just the very best players
      • Easy to Hard is a good target skill range
      • No ninja, I've got to be able to pass it to judge it
    • Have fun with it

    Submission:
    • You can of course post submissions to this thread
    • You can also submit via Twitter
      • @CannibalShogun
      • #1CPChallenge
    • Videos and/or screenshots are a plus but not required
    • Submission deadline is Monday July 14th at 11:55pm Pacific Time

    Ready? Set. GO!

    Awesomeness awaits!

I think I may try this challenge. But only 15 seconds? Jeez... that's going to take quite a bit of work. xD

Mr. Cannibal Shogun, I'm finding quite an issue with the time constraints of this challenge. You are unable to really add more than a single jump or two into the track, If I could have roughly 20-25 seconds with my track that would really help quite a bit. I can pretty well promise you won't be disappointed with it. I'm keeping with the single checkpoint rule; I guess I could make it to where you drive through the track quite a bit faster, but people would fault much more.

The time constraint is part of the challenge. 20-25 seconds is basically a short Trials track. It's not about creating a track, it's about creating a single, short, sweet experience. What can you add to those one or two jumps to make them stand on their own?

That being said I didn't put a strict limit on it, 10-15 seconds was a guide. Personally I think you can do it in less but by all means go ahead and do what you think is best The ultimate goal is just to have fun.

Well, I've got it down to about 10 seconds on a drive through. the rest of the time is spent falling... Really just need effects for the whole thing, I actually can't wait to see what you and the community think haha.

It's just good to have a "limit" for time. It forces you to be creative, which I like. It might be even easier to build a non-trials track and I'm sure there will be normal track competitions in the future.

15 seconds of creativity and probably a lot of effects. Will give it a try.

I'd say I've got roughly... 8 more hours to put into this track until I think it's perfect. I love what I've done so far. I've worked on it roughly since I first read this post, and all through the night. I should hopefully be done it some time tomorrow. I'm a bit amazed how much can be placed in the view of 15 seconds.
