Nice work there Mozza! That post was a journey, fulfilling and rich. I feel like a better man for reading it
    Couple of things I thought when reading;

Communication stuff - basically comes down to Redlynx growing and Ubisoft etc. There are no bigtime dev teams that behave like Redlynx used to pre-Evo, just doesn't work that way. Sure we might get a few community devs, mods and managers posting a little bit more but the only real insight we are gonna get, is what's already been allocated to us. They're not gonna see us behaving ourselves on the forum and decide we deserve extra info, much as we'd like.
And for me personally, finding out exactly where they are taking Trials in the coming years would probably be the nail in the fmxcoffin based on what I've seen so far.

Insults - exactly what gets put under this banner of "insulting the dev team". This is the internet and there are idiots using it, idiots who will say things they shouldnt, I'm probably one of them. But that doesnt mean RL can say "fine, a few of you have been rude to us so from now on we wont respond, listen or care about any of you" - NOT saying thats the route theyre taking - just saying that a few people going too far is no excuse to punish the community, or shy away from communicating with us.
Now if checking this forum is too much to bear for RL because of our negativity, and they dont wanna do it.. that's fine, but it's then justified when the backlash continues and increases.

TL;DR - I dont think we, collectively, have been too unreasonable toward RL.. and should they ever wish to play the "victim card" I'm not buying it.

I guess I feel a bit like ben1bob and his masochism.. I don't expect things to change enough for me to fall back in love with Trials, in fact I'm almost certain they wont and that this is the top of a large downhill slope for the hardcore trials community. I post here out of habit and boredom and maybe because the naive part of me still thinks I could change my mind. But really I think from now on it's a case of either; adept and accept, complain or leave. Atm I am on Team Complain and I think we're doing a terrific job.

If they wanna prove me wrong and give us an agile bike that isnt a bulky as the Roach and handles like the god-awful Banshee
    - do it! Please

Well done rillo beautifully put & very timely, before all that was great about Redlynx/trials/Community is truly lost.
No1 priority for me is clear communication & that has been poor.
i was amazed when i first joined the trials community by the devs & the players alike,
At the open discussions & family atmosphere that redlynx had created.
As rillo said, i too would like my shelf stacked with unplayed games Again,
Trials is the only game that has ever monopolised my gaming time.
& i would like all (or in reality SOME) of that back please.
Dont let greed & as xzamples said " all that is bad for gaming" ruin trials.
Thanks rillo for taking the time to post, it was def needed.

There are several games out there where you get into many thousands of people playing 5000+ hours. Trials may not have those numbers, but the most hardcore players here don't even scratch the surface of the loyalty or commitment that other game series have attained.
I almost choked on my drink. 500 hours by someone with a job, friends, social obligations, family... that's a lot of time. I played Trials HD a LOT, hours every day, for well over two years and had nearly 1400 hours, and I will admit that it wasn't exactly a healthy gaming habit. Some days the Trials community can be very vocal in what they don't like, and they can let us know is some borderline hostile ways, but the reason they do so is BECAUSE they are loyal and committed to the game.

There are ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade this community for any other.

I haven't even been a target yet and I'm ready to trade much of this community off for a clump of dirt. And I'm drinking. I'm very generous when I'm drinking.

I hope everyone comes around, or, at the least, those that aren't happy are happy for those of us that are happy.

I honestly have a hard time just getting on Fusion, but when I do, I can't last
1 hour. The last couple of times, I've turned the game off as soon as the main menu music started. To me, that song is saying this is the future: Everything I hate about gaming has taken over and destroyed the Trials series.

I respect your optimism and resilience, Morrillo. Always a great member of the community.

But it's quite common with a lot of games; LoL, DotA 2, StarCraft 2, CoD, Battlefield, FIFA. I'd be amazed if anyone played Trials that much.
I'd say some days I clock in a good 3-4 hours in Trials. I try to do a bit better on some tracks, attempt completing Inferno IV each day (One day I will get it!) and then try to beat my one friends times to just anger him. I may try a challenge or two just for fun. I honestly like the challenges, especially the ones where you have to bail out, or search the track for something; they can be quite a bit of fun! Then I go off to the track editor, where I work for quite a while on a project that I feel will never get done. I'm sure if I got to know the editor well enough I could clock in hours like that no problem. I can probably say I've got 1000's of hours in the Little Big Planet franchise easily mainly due to creating. If I get into the creator of Fusion well enough, and learn it I will probably be creating things like those FPS games and such. I've created full games in LBP, but never had the chance to do it on a 3D scale. I guess my plan is, if I can figure out how to use the editor well enough, I might be able to create an adventure/RPG game.

-Morillo, thank you for saying what you did, I really can't imagine a better person to point all of that out. I hope that most of the people on the forums read this, and take a few notes.

Cheers Max Depends which day of the week you catch me on though - think of this post as the best of me, I can be miserable and pessimistic with the best of them, and have certainly questioned some of the design decisions made by RL/Ubi (from a fan's point of view of course)...I can't say I really love Fusion right now tbh, yet I still fire it up every day looking for the next gem of a custom to spark my interest.

Maybe I just played too much, and expected so much so soon, or spent too long pointing out the issues and huge potential of track central (as I see them), maybe I just want to fast forward 6 months to see how much it may have progressed?

If I am honest I feel just like jook about the state of the gaming industry in general but this isn't the place for me to vent about all that!

    Great Post!

I had 1000+ Steam hours on Evo Gold PC and I can tell you it is a lot, in 1 year.

I had 1000+ days on WoW over 8 years (Started sometime late 2004 & quit april 2013), and that's not something I am proud of at all. Those weren't the best times in my life , and I came a long way since (looking from a current perspective).

I am glad Trials is a Genre I can put in time whenever I like & I use it as a way to express creativity as well.

Based on the news from the stream today, amidst all the negativity I would like to congratulate and commend RedLynx for hiring Loot Monkey and PURE EVIL (and of course DJ before them). In fact there have been many members of the community employed by RL, which has to be considered pretty special and inclusive.
Thanks you, and I cannot wait to see what DJ and PURE EVIL come up with together
