We have beginner - extreme, could a BETA section be added and tracks in there delete after say 2wk?
- If bugs are identified the creator can apply a fix before fully publishing
- reduce clutter on TC
- It's good to test the water before working on something that just doesn't work well
- If creators are happy with feedback or have ironed out last min bugs they can publish as normal and keep any download stats ands likes etc
Trials has a great community and this should be encouraged
Please tell me you will at least be able to test other people's tracks in some way or another, this is a MASSIVE shame otherwise?Originally Posted by En0- Go to original post
I fear you are refining options we had in Evo but not leaving us these options as well (i.e. new tournaments are a big change, but so many of us wanted the original style in addition).
I really don't think you all understand how valuable and how often this option was utilised in Evo - it has been a big letdown for builders to not be able to invite friends to help test/bug fix their creations before release.
This is what Shakey was referring to, when he said MP testing would fix the need for a beta section.
Change for change's sake is not a good thing, if you are changing the very things that made Evo great.![]()
Good to hear En0-, thanks.Originally Posted by En0- Go to original post
It was of course already suggested in the TC dev thread so good to know it is on your to-do list somewhere.
However, simply being able to upload the track into a beta section for 'static' comments would not be that helpful imo, the great thing about EVO was being in a party with friends, commenting on the track, they could make changes, you could run it together and point out live where the issues were. It was a very dynamic experience. It would be a shame to not have this, but we wait to see what you have planned.
Thanks Morrillo.
The goal of the multiplayer is for people to compete together in realtime, and it was not really used on EVO.
So we'll propose a different experience for Fusion but with the same goal: people competing in realtime.
I agree with you, what you're describing is a use case that is really useful and we'll need to find a way to bring that back.
I need to understand more some of the things you say:
- Being in a party with friends
- Commenting on the track
- They could make changes
- You can run it together and point out live where the issues were
- Dynamic experience
When you say "they could make changes", what do you mean exactly? I guess they couldn't edit the track, right?
Cheers,
Another point for you and everyone else.
I understand that it's natural to compare EVO and Fusion, but we shouldn't forget we compare a game that has been live and updated for years with a game that is live and has been live for 3 months (and updated once with more to come).
It would be fair to compare EVO launch + 3 months and Fusion launch + 3 months
(I didn't play EVO extensively so I don't know exactly the differences)
With that in mind, the picture is not that bad, but I honestly understand the frustration and some things should already be better.
