I laugh at the terms like "balance" being used to describe the change of priorities between HD and Fusion. It is more of a flip.

There is no balance. It has clearly fallen into the mainstream, and thus, has suffered in quality. The rush to meet the deadline and the detrimental technical issues only magnify the problem.

I'd love to see someone argue that it hasn't. And that is what people mean when they say the longtime fans aren't "cared about" anymore.
i would like to say a few things about this
in my eyes fusion has the potential to be better than hd/evo(not anytime soon though, we would need to talk again in like a year before it can be better and chances are we have given up on fusion by then, lets hope it gets in an enjoyable state soon first)

we seem to like to blame many things for why we think fusion is bad, mainstream, ubisoft
i personally blame redlynx mainly for the inferior tc, and marketing for not clearly explaining what would happen with mp(many people expected a different game than they recieved)
bugs are a bit harder to blame because they always happen, doesn't mean we can't complain if needed

    now some issues remain
-fusion isn't good now( you can enjoy it if you can ignore several things which is posible either because you never played evo/hd before or don't care about some issues fusion has(mp is pretty easy to ignore for some for example))
    -potential doesn't buy us dinner

You think Fusion's TC is what they were aiming for, their vision realised? No chance - TC on release was clearly rushed. And who rushed them? Because when Evo was set to be released, Redlynx certainly didn't rush themselves, the game was delayed by months. So what's changed since then... Ubi.

But maybe you're right, maybe Ubi are shouldering too much of the blame here, maybe it wasn't all out of RL's hands. And at the end of the day no one forced them to join Ubisoft, they chose to and it looks like we're the ones that lose out because of it.
No sense RL releasing a substandard game but getting "let off the hook" because everyone is just blaming Ubi for it.

its hard to tell where it went wrong with tc
one of the new things rl is also doing now is support the game longer with free updates/feature packs alongside dlc
this has some important advantages and disadvantages for both them and us

they can add stuff even beyond what they originally intended and make the game better, they have more freedom to add what they wanna add without needing to make a new game for it which is more time consuming
we get to play the game sooner (this might give us a game that isn't great though because things aren't of the minimum quality we want yet)marketing is important here so we know what we are getting and what will be done later
for the devs this model is also healtier because they get money sooner and when they make paid content instead of one big chunk that might vary alot
a issue with the model is that bugs are more of an issue, because of constant development new bug get made so games will be more buggy, the advantage is that they can also fix them

other things that could have gone wrong are indeed as you said that the game got rushed
or they have poor quality control
