You may get one of the sheep ie Shifty to copy and paste an email he got from one of his bosses that told him to "put that on the forums to keep them quiet for a few days" lol

The main problem is the NDAs because if RL admit to anything they open themselves and UBI to liable, period as this is how the world works. if you think about the whole process of releasing a game, UBI would have to book the factory used for pressing the game in advance, organise the media press releases and have them written up and printed to coincide with the launch. There is also consideration for platform QA testing as this has to happen before pressing the disk. It all takes time and a mammoth effort on every bodies part, Im sure RL wanted to have a finished game, but at some point in development they simply had to say 'OK lads time we get this ready for QA, regardless of its state' , yes its a shame, but life isn't as straightforward as 'yeah mate no problem, i'll hold of the pressing and the media, etc, just take your time and get it finished' , we all wish this im sure, but deadlines are imposed thats life and time is money.

@ iviarkD, I totally agree and well said, I am guilty of teasing the devs here with a hint of sarcasm, but the game had just been released and i was a little miffed, but after spending time reading through the forum and the responses from the devs, i can now fully understand where they're coming from, their passion about the series and the constraints they were put under, also despite what people may think they have listened to us, have take ideas put forth from evo into fusion, including asking for a customisation option for TC! (yes, i know its work in progress :P)

I do enjoy the game and love the series, i know RL will make this an amazing game, purely because HD and Evo were awesome.

@ iviarkD: Very interesting speculation on how you think we got to the point we're at with the game based on the perceived passion and dedication for the series on the part of RedLynx and the perceived demands and deadlines for this latest instalment set by Ubisoft. Whilst we have no way of knowing how right or wrong you are, I personally suspect you are pretty close to the mark with much of what you say. I would like to add a few comments of my own though because I don't necessarily think you are right in all of your assumptions, both with the developers and with the actions and reactions of this community.

If you read through a lot of the rants on this forum I think you'll find most people believe that pressure from Ubisoft is the main reason this game was released on time but unfinished. And although disappointed, I think a lot of the fans would begrudgingly accept this state if the parts of the game that were there at the start at least worked properly. At the end of the day we're customers as well as fans and all these unhappy people have paid good money that they have worked hard for and saved up for in order to buy this game. RedLynx and Ubisoft have a duty to provide their customers with the product they have paid for. Saying that, we all know that not everything always goes to plan and for whatever reason, whether's it's the fault of Ubisoft, RedLynx, both or neither, we have bought a game that is far from the finished article in many customer's eyes and they are right to feel aggrieved and ask what's going on. And when they get very little in the way of responses, it's not unreasonable to expect people to start getting angry and make accusations of not caring for their loyal customers or the product they have sold us. And in my opinion that is a major part of the problem in where we are at now is that after two-and-a-half months it is still pretty much a one-way conversation between the customer and the supplier. And the supplier is the one that appears to be burying their collective head in the sand in the hope that we all shut up and go away.

RedLynx generally give two reasons why we don't hear from them much - Either they are too busy fixing things and that is their priority or they do not particularly want to come on the forum and interact because there is so much negativity. Well, in my opinion they really need to show a little more responsibility towards their customers and spend some time trying to address a few of their concerns. I'm not talking about apologies or reasons for this and that or giving dates for when we'll have certain things. But it would go a long way to repairing the relationship between RedLynx and their fan base if a statement was released saying that ANBA or someone with enough seniority to be able to answer a lot of the questions would spend a particular day addressing as many of the fans concerns as they are able.

Another reason people are angry is that so little testing seems to have been done on this game. As you mentioned in your post, the concept of Trials is incredibly simple and it is fundamental to the series to retain this core concept of accelerate, brake, lean forward, lean back throughout subsequent editions of the game. The FMXploit is a prime example of how this has been overlooked. So many times the community questioned this new aspect of the game and so many times RedLynx assured everyone that FMX would not affect the core physics of the game. It took less than a day for most people to realise that this was blatantly untrue. How could RedLynx not notice this? Either they did know about it and lied or they didn't know about it because they didn't test it. It's issues like this where people feel so let down because the concerns were raised and assurances were made and now, again, because of the lack of interaction on behalf of the developers all you're left with is a one-sided rant with no one prepared to face their customers for fear of being shouted at.

Which all leads around to your last point where you say a lot of "us" don't care. Well, I think the reason everyone is here is because they DO care. And they care passionately which is why so many of the posts scream with anger and emotion. Nobody wants this game to be a failure, not Ubisoft, not RedLynx and none of the people who frequent this forum. Not everyone has the inclination or indeed the articulation to write a constructive post and some people have just spent the last hour trying to play a game that won't let them connect to the Uplay servers or save their times to the leaderboards or allow them to upload a track they've spent many hours creating. They don't want to sit down and write a nice, polite post, they want to vent their immediate frustrations that a game they love is still not working and why oh why won't anyone tell them that they're doing something about it.

Redlynx is making the game better over time. but as it have been stated they do not care about us since we are not the majority... the people that have been playing it for years and are really good at are just a minority which they do not care about. so just give up

Sandy c'mon mate. How can you say that... no where has that been stated, very brash thing to say. Speaking from my own opinion and from the level side, YES we do care about the guys that have been playing trials for many years, I know many of you from being from the community. Many things have being considered here from you guys. The whole ninja petition from evo. I will point out that the ninja tracks in the game were done in our own time believe it or not. There are many things that are picked up from community that are considered (some things that you may not know about, due to not seeing that feedback) Kalinius suggested an achievement in one thread that is actually in the game now thanks to his suggestion... It isn't nice reading comments where people say we don't care and say it's a fact based off their opnions. I have read the posts in this thread, everyone has their opinions. Be excellent to each other. Nice

I think it's getting pulled out of context. Yes we all know that trials is more mainstream now than it was with HD and evo. It is on more platforms and a much bigger project, but as I said in my original post It doesn't mean we completely disregard everything about the guys that have been playing trials for years and also as I said, two examples I gave showing that stuff you say does make an impact still. I read the forums everyday although yes it isn't the best reading some posts. We still listen/read.

There are loads of things that you guys have had input in, Just because it's not down in writing, the way timesavers were made by watching how the top guys would run tracks. 2 lines from shifty (even saying "I hope it is read correctly") can't be something you use as "We don't care about the hardcore guys anymore".... Yes the forum community is small but you have had more input on this game than you know. Don't think that we don't care cause I am telling you that is not the case.
