I want to be really excited about this. I sure hope it's not another online game.
After seeing the trailer my hope is that it's the City Building we know, combined with a more traditional form of RTS combat, possibly with hero unit types.
I'm a bit worried about the lack of exposure this game is getting though. If the game really is due to be release in 5 months or less, then I'm worried that it isn't advertised on the Ubisoft or Blue Byte websites.
There's there's a section for Coming Soon games on the Ubisoft website. It lists even some TBA games, so I wonder why this game isn't listed there.
It might be because there is no information to share about the game yet, but with less than 5 months untill release this just leaves me thinking that this isn't very a "advanced" game, but instead simply another F2P game, with MOBA elements perhaps.
I might be wrong and this is all completely normal, I sure hope I am.
There has never been much information about any new Settlers game,so that doesnt really suprise me,Settlers have some die hard fans, and Im sure most if not all will buy it no matter what,I was an avid S3 and S4 player I bought 5,6,7 and played possibly 15 minutes of each before deciding they were settlers games,in name only.I am hopeful but not convinced this one may go back to the original roots, only time will tell

Please Ubisoft try and regain the magic from the original games. Random generating maps are a must. Exploration for resources. No individual control of battle units. Building paths. Cute animations that relate directly to how well your town is running. That's what made the original games great, its simple really!
Settlers 1 and 2 were by far the best games and then 3/4 wasn't bad either. Then it slowly went downhill although I still enjoyed playing all versions except Settlers 7.
So there you go. Who am I kidding, they wont listen to me but I can hope!!
Thanks for the link. I would say the idea of "champion" characters is exactly the kind of thing Settlers players DO NOT want. The other screenshots look promising though. Lets wait and see, I will try and get on the beta if I can..Originally Posted by pennyuk Go to original post
I personally think it sounds great. It looks like it could be similar to the game Folk's Tale, which I'm looking forward to.
I do agree, though, that this is far from what people expect from The Settlers series, so perhaps it would have been best to create an entirely new setting for this game, instead of taking The Settlers further and further away from it's roots.
I don't want that. for me, that is one of the aspects of the series that caused it to go downhill.Originally Posted by TUMPIN Go to original post
