    Guaranteed EXP in Tournaments...

...Personally I think we should get some kind of participation exp for just participating if we dont place well enough to get the exp for placing in the top 10, 50 or 70th percentiles, especially in the extreme difficulty ones...

    this is just my opinion...

THIS POST IS PERSONAL OPINION ONLY AND DOES NOT NECESSARILY REFLECT THE VIEWS OF REDLYNX and/or UBISOFT.

I'll go over this with the other people at RL, but I....

I don't know. I feel like if you want to gain EXP (or other rewards) then you need to perform. You aren't given an A is school just because you tried, you get it for performing well. There are a lot of games that give you (all) achievements for finishing the game in a normal play-through, and that, to me, nullifies the whole point in achievements. If you don't like the prizing you are being given for coming in at 10,000th place (and by "you" I mean anyone, not YOU-"you") and you want what the guy in 1st, or 3rd, or 100th place is getting, then you should put in the game time for practice. Is it worth reducing someone's achievement to give a participation medal to another person?

I say "Nay"! But I could be 100% by myself in this one.

If you want guaranteed XP, then hit up Track Central, or get some more medals in Single Player tracks. Tournaments are quick "You vs The World" events, and if you want to compete, and reap the rewards, then you'll need to bring your A-game.

I don't mean to call you out or anything, or say "RedLynx will never do this". I am just sharing my own opinion, and I would like anyone else who reads this thread to do so as well. Rolling on just my own POV would leave me with a very narrow view.

    Oh, once again:

I think the % are fine, especially silver xp is much higher then bronze gives a good incentive to at least get that top 40%.

I feel it really depends how many total players participate to set the bar for skill , more players usually means wider range of skill levels, thus more fun to compete.

I just hope to see a bit more variation in tracks/rewards(special colored bike/rider parts/wheels, something not game-breaking) in the future as well as the level/garage system expanded, as well as a moneysink for in-game cash.

I'm with shifty on this one. It's a pvp mode, and the experience should reflect your performance.

I mostly agree with shifty, but, I also think maybe a 50xp reward for participation or something equally insignificant

I would like to see more variations on the rewards [extra little bit for top 3, possibly...like i'll ever get close] or just more tiers of reward...I don't know, just letting the fingers do the work, my brain long since disengaged....having only 5 hours sleep in 2 nights does that...

like you stated, TC offers those small rewards [which could back last time I loaded TC be abused with those 0s tracks....] so I would think it only fair that someone who tries 2+ tracks should get SOMETHING - maybe not XP, maybe a bit of coin in game $100 ??...hell, I don't know, I'm just a troll...I prefer being abusive and useless, its more my style

get better at game n00b [j/k] sorry, couldn't help it...i'll go lay on my bed pretending im sleeping for another few hours

even though i don't really have issues with getting into top 10% if i want too, i feel everybody should get some(not alot) reward
if you don't and people can't reach a goal everything will just feel like a waste because they got nothing
idealy you want as many people competing as posible

you can do this by giving people propper awards
or make it challenging and fair

and neither is happening for noobs, only the elite have a chance of getting anywhere in the tourneys and get a "reward"
also good luck to anybody trying to challenge venomz when he has entered and only a few have a fair chance against him

also the tourneys could have way more stuff that can give a challenge if it was visible onscreen
-you could be competing against a preset "medal" for a certain tiered reward
-you could be competing against friends
-against your previous personal best if you already entered that one in a previous round already( your friends personal best)
-you could try to get in a top % like rewards are tiered now( a bad way because you only know if you will get the reward you wanted after its over)
    -a top 10(000) rank
    -an all time best

even noobs can find a meaningfull challenge among this
all this info should be easy to access for the player after and before he starts a specific tourney
this info alone is worth more than the meaningless xp we get now

Imagine this situation, currently on ps4, only about 15 people can place in the top 10% in the nightlife tournament. It's currently the only tournament that takes any effort to place in. This is good. If everyone got a piece just for participation, the entrants will be higher, but the bar will be lowered, making things less competitive.

because less competitors gives a better competition?

also if those 15 people are just competing to get in top 10% then they aren't competing very hard either, not much different from a noob trying to get a silver medal on a track, besides that they are a bit better at the game

if people would just play the tourney once for the xp reward then redlynx didn't balance the rewards correctly, but if they enter and compete for anything on my list they will raise the limits for everybody else on their skill level or lower

if redlynx just makes a badge for top 3(they could make one for getting in top 100,1000 etc too depending on how popular these get) or so those 15 people can still compete against eachother for that badge. its not like they are competing for the reward anyway, its just for seeing onscreen they got the top tier reward so redlynx just has to make the stuff i said in previous post visible onscreen if they want better rewards, people just want bragging rights

more people will only lower the bar if the better people have nothing to compete for

I like a lot that I've seen here. What everyone is saying, their imput and such, really good ideas!

I like the system here, because it reminds me a bit of how SSX was with it's online play.
( I could never do the races and sometimes got into the platinum ranking for doing tricks in that game)

Idea, maybe make a trick or skill game based tournament aswell? Possibly make a community challenge for creating a set of tournament tracks. You could set it up to where maybe there would be one in 6 tournaments was one made by a member of the community. I'm really only bringing this up because I think it'd be a really cool way to get the community to work together. Let's be honest, a game developer can only make a game up to a certain degree, and then they look to people to see what they would like, and what they wouldn't like. As I see it, it's just as much our game as it is Redlynx game.

Besides that point, I like that there is a bit of a broad range of tournaments. Although it looks to be either a Beginner, Beginner/Easy, and then an Extreme.
I was hoping for something that had tournaments that catered closer to people's skill levels. Pretty well along the lines of Beginner/Easy. Easy/Medium. Medium/Hard. Hard/Extreme. I understand the way it is set up right now, but I feel like the Extreme tournament had some really easy courses in it and then one Extreme track. (At least on PS4, not sure if all platforms have the same tournament cycle.)

I feel like they should have more tracks, to their labeled difficulty in my opinion.

I love the game, love playing against friends ghosts (Wish it was a actual image of their bike/rider that we had an option to set the opacity for, so we could see where our friends bunny hopped, etc while racing against their ghosts. Rather than having to watch replays, and try to learn from that). Noticed that there is an XP bar for Multiplayer, a bit excited to see that.

I do feel a bit unfufilled after doing a tournament though... I dunno, I feel like there could be some really neat things to it, who knows maybe decals for the bikes!? haha. Nothing really big, like doing top 10% earns you a bike, or a rider or anything like that. Most people wouldn't get those things and would be mad. I guess just little things, there isn't really a point to the XP, and with each purchase for the bikes/rider, less of a reason for the money.

I'm not the best at this game, still haven't beat Inferno IV (ran out of time on it today, but also got past the first jump! Which was surprisingly a really big deal to me)

But I've played video games really my whole life, and I think that there is a lot of things that can be done with the tournaments to make them attractive for creators, skilled players, fmx pros, skill challenge masters, and new riders alike.

EDIT: Another quick idea, possibly when multiplayer rolls around make a tournament that can only be done with a group of people? Possibly like a relay type thing, or how fast your whole group can get through the track. Just another idea for the ever evolving Trials Fusion.

I dont agree giving exp to everybody doing tournament, it should be earned.
so what if you're No.1.000.000 of the world......get over it and practise if you wanna be better.
If you want EASY EXP, go search for a track in trackcentral ( mostly called: Easy EXP)
U can compare it with trackbuilders, some tracks are incredible good,
others are just build by LAZY people.( how hard is it to put a object ON the driveline??)

Many of those top players are playing trials for years. ( i play trials bout 1 year in case u asking)
SO if u want to be better in tournaments or editor, get your back to it, and practise like hell.

Here are 2 good tips to make you better at trials:
    1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgLI...1R42PnvHm_Uhqg
2: Watch Twitch and look for good players, they mostly are willing to teach you how to be better.
