    Berserker vs. Riptide

    hello all.
I finally got the berserker, which i found a bit sluggish at first try. My riptide is 5/5/5/5. how much do I need to upgrade the berserker in order to beat the riptide ? (I guess it depends on the tracks...)

Berserker gets really good after just a couple of upgrades in each section. It's really the only T3 bike you want to concentrate on.

My Riptide is 4/5/6/5 and like yourself I didn't like the Berserker. I upgraded it to 3/3/3/3 and tried to do Quagmire and discovered it can't do the fender grab on the second checkpoint because it doesn't have enough grip. I carried on using the Riptide.

I do now use it on the more technical tracks but I still use the Riptide on Quagmire.

    Edit:

Riptide at 4/5/6/5 and Berserker at 3/3/4/3 have the same grip and lean stats but Riptide has much better top speed and Berserker has much better acceleration. When my 4/4/4/4 upgrades are complete I'll give Quagmire another go and if I can complete it then it becomes my default tier 3 bike.

I would say 4/4/4/4 should be enough to surpass your Riptide.

I got through Quagmire with a 2/2/2/2 Berserker. On that second checkpoint, I catch my front wheel and swing underneath instead of doing the flip to grab the pole with the back tire. I definitely agree with Godmil that you should focus on the Berserker.

Berserker gets almost insane at 6/6/7/6. Rip might have better top speed, but the Berserker is like glue and the hop ability is fantastic.

I didn't do much with the Rip yet. Berserker is clearly getting it done for me.

I didn't say you couldn't complete Quagmire on the Berserker but I have been unable to master the front wheel underflip with any consistency so for the front flip to fender grab technique I need at least level IV tires for comparable grip with my Riptide. Also at level II tires I didn't have anywhere near the same acceleration on steep inclines that I had on my Riptide. I used my Riptide on Lumber Yard and The Stacks until I got level III tires.

I use the Berserker on every tier 3 track except Quagmire. It is definitely the best bike in Tier 3.

To answer the question in the OP, if you get your Berserker to 3/3/3/3 it should be of a similar standard to your Riptide but with better agility.

I got my Riptide very high in levels before I finally got all the Berzerker blueprints, but once I did I put a couple of levels in the Berzerker and never looked back. Never needed to.

Check the leaderboards on every tier3 track. It's almost entirely berserkers.

    true..
i'll upgrade the berserker to lvls 2 or 3, this will already take some time (which I have anyway considering that I still have to complete the last mission with 3 level 5 parts...)

Its speed vs. agility vs. technique. Go look at my run on Casino Rooftop, its on the Bronco and i'm pretty sure I have a faster time than you. It won't ever be #1, but its one hell of a good challenge. However, there's plenty of other tracks where the speed bike will be #1. Just a matter of time in waiting for upgrades. I'm really just waiting for the Donkey.
