Seems like the right way to me.Originally Posted by Xracer500 Go to original postHes a swell chap for that!
Making an inquiry as to why we didn't share names of creators is a totally valid question, and I in no way saw it as an attack. You guys are fans of the game, you're passionate about it, you create content for it... You're the backbone of the community and a huge part of our ability to continue to make more games. However, there ARE some questions that I do not feel comfortable answering by myself, and this happens to be one of them. For now, I can only say this: We have had many, many (like, a whole lot of) discussions about a cross platform Track Central. Having UGC from multiple release platforms playable by people on every other platform was one of our goals from the start. It isn't easy, and it isn't something that I have really seen before, except in the instance of Portal 2, which is reliant upon Steamworks and only works from PC - PS3. We are able to do this due to our use of Uplay services that Trials Fusion has been built to use. I know that some of you aren't fans of Uplay, but without it, we might not have the opportunity to share these tracks with the whole of Trials players.Originally Posted by NasT65 Go to original post
As these tracks are selected from the vast amount of tracks on Track Central it's almost like RedLynx Picks, only these tracks will be made to work on all platforms. As such, I don't see why we WOULDN'T have an "Official" thread about these tracks, and the only reason it hasn't yet happened is because I am not currently in the office (con-flu) and I have limited communications with the other folks at RedLynx. The Featured Tracks thread should be created by Monday, which is when I can be fairly sure that everyone who has required information should be in the office.
I had the pleasure of meeting Psycad and I am in 100% agreement, he's a cool guy. He should be careful though, as he is technically breaking Microsoft's Terms of Use by taking that information from the Xbox's drive and moving it to PC, and we cannot condone such practices.Originally Posted by Xracer500 Go to original post
Note: I didn't notice how "wall-o-text" my post was becoming. SORRY!
Well I learned something today, I thought "FusionCommunity" was another track making group shared account.Originally Posted by NasT65 Go to original post
C'mon now RL, have a little class and give them credit for their work. Without them Fusion is gonna be a dead in a few months.
I made this for you guys:Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai Go to original post

A directory of every track, creator, original format, date, difficulty, and videos.
Will update as necessary.
RL, these cross platform ports are VERY welcome indeed.
I don't get that. Remaking a track on another platform should be violating the ToU? And you can't even get the track file because there is no local save on Trials Fusion!Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai Go to original post
Hi,
That's a really tricky topic and that's normal Shifty doesn't feel comfortable answering that. So I am going to try to help.
I just wanted to point out that I don't know any other game that shares things created on XboxOne/360 to PS4 and vice-versa at this scale. It's totally normal that 1st parties are a little bit cold for this kind of thing, they want to protect their ecosystem and differentiate it from the other, it's understandable (I would do the same). We have a really great relationship with Microsoft and Sony and they help us to improve the experience on their platform. It's already a huge step forward to have been able to manage to do it (and I hope we'll be able to keep opening things between platforms) but to achieve it, we had to do some concession and accept some constraints. I think at the end we found a win/win agreement between 1st parties and Trials Fusion.
That's also due to the quality of the community and the quality of the content produced. This also allows creators to have exposition on some top world-wide website like IGN: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/...created-tracks
So please, be proud and celebrate with us to have been able to do what nobody did before. :-)
Cheers,
hi eno
its amazing that we have crossplatform user created content now
you didn't say anything about that the creators aren't recieving the credit they deserve for their creations though
i think atleast the name could be added somewhere so we know who made it, regardless of the platform
i hope thats something you're gonna add one way or another, and even something we can search for because i can imagine we will have a ****load of amazing crossplatform tracks in a few months/years
I think when eno was talking about concessions and constraints, he was referring to the specific information of the tracks. He said 1st parties are protective of themselves. As such, I would imagine having details saying a track that is awesome from a competitor would be bad for business. So, with the arrangement they have, they can still share cross platform, but they have to be vague about it. That's my guess. Which would also explain why such an awesome feature isn't really that obvious in the game, with it being nonchalantly put under the "uplay recommends" page.
