    Globally align driving line?

Hey guys, this is something I have been wondering about for ages. Is there a way to perfectly align the driving line with the global X-Z coordinates?? I think this might make some types of OPE easier.

hi, yes but you have to do the hard graft

point object info to the start and end spline points and nudge them so they align (it's a little fiddly) and works surprisingly well. I also sometimes lay a large square plate down using global snap (rotate) and use the driving line alpha and get it running along the edge.

I did find oddly if i go before the start spline the bumper align goes out, not sure why this happens as the d/l is running very true, i cured this by dragging the start line further back.

For a straight line track you can add a vector object position info for X Y Z coords at spline points, I often make my tracks along the X or Z Axis so it's easier to move objects with the global selection arrows (PC has a toggle between global/local/screen movement).

You can also add more spline points and add a curve and still keep parts of the line perfect straight that way as long as the curves are a total of at least 90 degrees.

And it does indeed make straight Global OPE movements a bit easier as well as it only needs 1 axis to move along or straight across the driveline.

As for aligning spline points, I think it's much harder to do with a controller then a mouse , as a controller movement does not get the axis selection arrows, only on PC get that option though. I don't know an easy way for a controller as I don't align things that way.
