Idea for presentation of character customization UI.

Rather then the old as dirt character customization screen with a black background and some slider menus, what if there was a more novel way we customized our character within the game?

I'm envisioning our character starts in an apartment awakened by a message on the smart watch that we've been activated as an agent -- "DIRECTIVE 51 IN FORCE. GET READY. MEET UP @ LZ ALPHA". A look out the window reveals smoke plumes in the distance - signs of disaster are everywhere. The camera pans to the bathroom, our character moves over to the sink. A fogged-out mirror above the sink has MALE and FEMALE written from a finger. After choosing one, we are given the option to use the KINECT to capture our face or if skipped, the fogged mirror clears to reveal a randomized face. We hover over each element of the face to customize it. After finalizing our choices we move over to a closet where we have the option to pick from shirts, pants, coats, etc. A full length mirror off center from the closet shows our character as we try on clothes. Once our clothes are finalized the camera pans to the bottom of the closet where we open a footlocker containing some options for GO bags, a starter pistol, grenade, etc. As we leave the apartment we activate the smart watch and are given coordinates for the meet up site where our adventure begins.

This sounds exactly like what Chris Roberts over at Roberts Space Industries outlined for how they want their character customization system to work when a new character starts the game. I think it's a great way to add a cinematic element to character customization, so you've got my vote!
