I saw this in a video, and had no idea it was possible. Aiden was on a balcony, with a number of gang members below him. He jumps off of the ledge and drops down onto an enemy, which begins an animation of Aiden landing on the guy's back and knocking him out with his beat-down stick.

Has anyone else done this? Have any idea how to do it? For instance, I wonder if you press the Takedown button from the ledge (like in assassin's creed) or if you just try to aim your jump to land on the guy, and he automatically takes him down? Or if you press the takedown button while you are in the air?

I did it once when trying to take down a gang member. I was on a ledge just above him, jumped on him and hit the takedown button. It worked for me. except I didn't see the animation.

That sounds like you got it, the animation wasn't like a cut scene, just an attack sequence that was automated. So you hit the takedown button while you were falling?

Yep. It happened so fast I wasn't even sure I did it correctly.

Wow! Seriously people didn't know about that? I'm doing it a lot. I even do it on purpose for fun, when crime in progress takes place near to container I climb on it and wait for it, then jump down to knock down the criminal. And there's no need to press any button, it's automatic. When you fall from above near to the enemy the landing is align to the enemy to knock him down from the above.

You don't need to hit the takedown button when you are falling.

I seem to notice Aiden automatically takes their target down after climbing a fence, jumping off a ledge, or sliding over a car. (If the enemy is in that direction.)

I did one once yeah haha, I chased a guy over a fence and when I went up I just drop kicked him on the way down haha. Was pretty cool and was not expecting that to go so fluidly. Usually in those games you wind up in an awkward run in circles around the guy for a bit as you both land
