    In most Mohawk cultures, it is considered taboo to touch or be touched by someone who you don't consider a family or a friend.

    And in another scenario, on the psychological side based on the article "tunnel vision," he was showing signs of PTSD due to the physical assault from Charles Lee.

    So I think both are plausible reasons why he is like that, and I don't blame him. Ask adventurewoman for more about that.

    Corey May remembered the Templars had to be dastardly otherwise we would look bad killing them. So he quickly wrote that in.
